Schwarzenegger calls for coordinated attack on gangs

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger called Monday on mayors and law enforcement officials across California to join with him in forging a counterattack on street gangs blamed for much of the state's violent crime.

Speaking at a news conference at Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department headquarters in Monterey Park, Schwarzenegger proposed a statewide summit after discussing the gang problem for about 40 minutes with L.A. County Sheriff Lee Baca, the sheriffs of Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Baca said Los Angeles County was the "gang capital of America" and an appropriate place to hold the first of what he hoped would be several meetings about the state's gang problems. He estimated that Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties have 120,000 gang members.

Every winter, thousands of dolphins are confined and brutally killed in small towns across Japan. Fishermen often injure a few captives by spear thrust or knife slash to retain the group since dolphins never abandon injured family members. Dolphin meat are later marketed and often mislabeled as whale meat. Very Graphical.Warning, the images in this video are highly disturbing!

Wash That Dirty Bomb Right Out of Your Building

So a dirty bomb just went off in your fair city and contaminated a few blocks with radioactivity. Do you just put up a barrier and keep people out for a few decades until radiation fades away? Or maybe tear the whole neighborhood down.

Very, very important Homeland Security safety warnings

The US government has a new website, www.ready.gov. It's another attempt at scare mongering in the style of the old "duck and cover" advice after WWII.

The fun thing is that these pictures are so ambiguous they could mean anything! Here are a few interpretations.
