U.S. security agents have a master list of five million people worldwide thought to be potential terrorists or criminals, officials say. "The U.S. lookout index contains some five million names of known terrorists and other persons representing a potential problem," Brian Davis, a senior Canadian immigration official in Paris, said in a confidential document obtained by the Sun.

List of Those Exempt From U.S. Air Rules


Citizens from 27 countries can travel to the United States without a visa and are exempt from being fingerprinted and photographed at U.S. airports and seaports under a new anti-terrorism program the Homeland Security Department launched Monday.

The countries are:

Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, San Marino, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Portugal and Singapore.

When President Bush travels around the United States, the Secret Service visits the location ahead of time and orders local police to set up "free speech zones" or "protest zones," where people opposed to Bush policies (and sometimes sign-carrying supporters) are quarantined. FBI warns to watch for potential terrorists with almanacs


The Federal Bureau of Investigation has asked police around the United States to watch out for almanacs that it said could be used to prepare terrorist attacks, an FBI spokesman said. In a warning sent to 18,000 police departments on December 24, the FBI said that "almanacs are used for targeting purposes," according to FBI spokesman Ed Cogswell.

New Gun Can Shoot Around Corners


Veterans of Israeli anti-terror units on Monday demonstrated a new gun that can fire at a target from around the corner, making it particularly effective in urban combat.
