Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla was an electrical inventor, and lived during the late 1800's into the mid-1900's. He was a brilliant person, yet was an enigma to practically everyone. Known for his eccentric lifestyle, Tesla nevertheless maintained a rather high social profile, despite his prolific inventiveness. Some of his phobias included pearl earrings worn by women, never staying in a hotel room or floor whose number was divisable by three, and insisting on a large number of napkins at every meal with which he would meticulously polish his silverware. Tesla had a good number of friends, one of which was Samuel Clemmons, also known as Mark Twain.

Tesla: The Electric Magician
Despite his relative obscurity, the greatest genius of all time may have been Nikola Tesla. With over 700 patents in his name, Tesla shaped our current technological landscape more than any other individual. How, then, did this great man end up dying destitute and in obscurity? Did Tesla's extraordinary mind decline into insanity... or was he simply far, far ahead of his time?

Nikola Tesla Page, tesla coils
Hey, congratulations, you found some Tesla stuff on WWW! I highly recommend Chip A's coil-building discussion list at 'Pupman.' Also check out nic.funet.fi (TESLA GROUP below) for more files on coils. An index now exists for the TCBA Newsletter, so buying the correct back-issues is fairly simple.

The Scientific Legacy of Nikola Tesla
When Nikola entered the Polytechnic School in Graz, he studied 20 hours a day, reading and memorizing works by Descartes, Goethe, Spencer, and Shakespeare. Although he deservedly earned straight A+ grades during his first semester and was able to speak nine languages, Tesla never graduated from the Austrian Polytechnic School. By his third year, Tesla was gambling heavily and was not granted an extension when he was unprepared for his final exams.
