Dutch Iceman to climb Everest in shorts: It's all about the inner fire
In January this year, Wim Hof ran a half Marathon (21 km) above the polar circle in Finland. He wore only a pair of shorts and no shoes. The ground (snow) temperature was 35 below. In a few months time, he'll try something similar on Everest's north side. The expedition, led by Dutch Werner de Jong, will try to set a new world record as Wim attempts to climb parts of Everest wearing only shorts.

Slovenian swimmer nears halfway point in Amazon swim
Slovenian Martin Strel approached the halfway point of his attempt to swim the entire length of the Amazon river Thursday, trying to avoid severe burns, alligators and the dreaded bloodsucking toothpick fish.
The 52-year-old Strel has swum Europe's Danube River, China's Yangtze and the Mississippi, according to his support team. He has averaged about 90 kilometres a day since he began his 5,300-kilometre swim from the river's source in Peru on Feb. 1.

Formula One: Earth car will emit over 50 tonnes of CO2
Jenson Button's car will be responsible for emitting over 50 tonnes of carbon dioxide this Formula One season, it has emerged in the week they launched the "Earth Car" as the centrepiece of their environmental-awareness campaign. The English driver's emissions in the F1 season will probably be more than five times higher than the average Briton produces in 12 months.

The bicycle, arguably one of the world’s most brilliant inventions, has many advantages: it’s a great form of exercise, it’s economical, it’s environmentally friendly, and it feels phenomenal to fly downhill on one. Possibly one of the only disadvantages is the material used to make it.

Railz let you skate on the snow?
The Railz system from FlowLab enables you to finally skateboard on the snow (I know, finally!). The snow skates are a set of metal-edged skis that mount on any board in place of the trucks and wheels, and “allow you to ride the snow just like your favorite patch of concrete”.

A 3,375-mile swim up the Amazon
A LONG-DISTANCE swimmer known as “the Fish Man” will start a daring 3,375-mile journey along the entire length of the Amazon this week, a feat that has never been attempted before because of its extraordinary dangers.
Martin Strel, 52, a Slovenian who has already swum the lengths of the Danube (1,877 miles), the Mississippi (2,360 miles) and the Yangtze (2,487 miles), was completing preparations this weekend for his toughest challenge by far.

Awesome sunset video of an 81-way world-record skydiving parachute formation!
After almost a week of training a group of dedicated skydivers put together the largest parachute formation ever built. It consists of 81 ... all » skydivers in the formation and several video people flying around. It took place over Lake Wales Florida USA just before sunset and has some incredible shots by some incredible video fliers, and a picture-perfect "starburst" break-away.
