The referee's a doctor
Italian referee Pierluigi Collina - probably the world's best known sporting official - has been awarded an honorary degree in the UK.
Mr Collina, 44, becomes a Doctor of Science for his contribution to the world of sport, following a 27-year career in football.

Kurz vor den Olympischen Spielen wollen die griechischen Behörden anscheinend die herumstreunenden Straßenhunde aus dem Stadtbild entfernen.
Seit mehreren Wochen stellt der Europäische Tier- und Naturschutzbund (ETN) vermehrt auftretende Vergiftungen und Ertränkungen an Straßenhunden fest.

Super Bowl streaker fined $1,000
A streaker who delayed the second-half kickoff at the Super Bowl was fined $1,000 Tuesday but avoided any jail time.
Mark Roberts, 39, of Liverpool, England, was fined by the same six-woman jury that found him guilty Monday of misdemeanor trespassing. That carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail and up to a $2,000 fine.

Old plastic bags turn into a football
Here we have to be creative; it all starts when we meet at our usual place and we do not have a ball to play football with; so off we go to the local rubbish pile to collect old plastic bags you have to be careful where you walk, but soon we have enough let's have a look what we got it looks good you get some plastic together and you put it in a bag and into another bag, I am sure you got the idea .......
