RSS Mix Tape

RSS Mix Tape reads items from RSS feeds that you specify, and displays them in a list. You go through the list, picking your favorite posts and putting them into categories. You can also write comments on posts. Then you click the "Generate RSS" button, and RSS Mix Feed spits out an RSS feed for each category. Your friends can use their favorite RSS reader to view your feeds (livejournal is an RSS reader, if you're a paid user). In short, RSS In, RSS Out.

Associated Press launches RSS feeds

The Associated Press has quietly added RSS feeds to their corporate site. This is the first time AP stories are available directly on the web in RSS (as opposed to running through Yahoo News.) The seventeen feeds include Top News, US, World, Business, Sports, and Technology--and are headlines/digest feeds available for non-commercial use.

MSN Search Beta Results in RSS Format

Microsoft has promised a developer API for MSN Search early next year. While we wait, this form is a crude little hack which searches MSN Search Beta and delivers the results in RSS 2.0 format.

Newspapers with RSS: A List

It took a little longer than expected, but I've compiled what I believe to be a solid list of U.S. newspapers that offer RSS feeds. The list includes newspapers listed in the Yahoo! directory, including college/university publications when available. While it might be incomplete, it's the best list I've been able to put together based on resources (and patience) available.

Rss Readers

Here is a directory of RSS readers, which are used to scan or read many sites at once. They are part of RssSyndication; you use them to read RssFeeds, either just the headlines, or the headlines and a short description (or even the whole text) of each item. You can click on any item to see it in it's regular web page context. Some readers use a web interface, some are a desktop program, separate from your web browser.
