Linken-Chefs verlieren Immunität
Mit den Stimmen der Koalition hat der Landtag die Immunität der Linken-Fraktionschefs Janine Wissler und Willi van Ooyen aufgehoben. Sie hatten an einer nicht genehmigten Demo gegen Neonazis teilgenommen.
Wissler und van Ooyen hatten im Februar 2010 in Dresden mit rund 10.000 Menschen an einer Blockade eines Neonazi-Aufmarschs teilgenommen. Diese Blockade war nicht genehmigt. Die Dresdner Staatsanwaltschaft wirft den beiden hessischen Linken-Politikern Rädelsführerschaft und Verstoß gegen das Versammlungsgesetz vor.

Milliardär gegen Putin - Im schlimmsten Fall droht Bürgerkrieg
Er zählt zu den reichsten Männern Russlands, nun plant Michail Prochorow den Einzug in den Kreml. Bei der Präsidentschaftswahl will der Unternehmer gegen Wladimir Putin antreten. Im Interview rechnet er mit der politischen Klasse ab und fordert die Freilassung des Ölmagnaten Michail Chodorkowski.

That’s what the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Defense Department’s research and development arm, thinks too.
It’s the Adaptive Vehicle Make project through a pilot program called Manufacturing Experimentation and Outreach, and it’s slated to reach a thousand schools in and out of the country, roping in the brightest minds to develop robotics and advance technology in new and interesting ways.

Union streitet über SOPA-Haltung
Die "US-amerikanische SOPA-Gesetzgebung weist in die richtige Richtung" - so heißt es in einer Pressemitteilung der CDU/CSU-Bundestagsfraktion. Doch in der Partei denken längst nicht alle so, erste Reaktionen fallen harsch aus.
Mit einem Plädoyer für zwei umstrittene US-Gesetzesvorhaben zum Urheberrecht hat die Bundestagsfraktion der CDU/CSU auch innerparteilich für Unmut gesorgt. Die SOPA-Gesetzgebung (Stop Online Piracy Act) weise in die richtige Richtung, hieß es in einer offiziellen Erklärung der Fraktion vom Mittwoch. "Die CDU/CSU-Fraktion steht auch im digitalen Zeitalter für einen starken Schutz des geistigen Eigentums", erklärten der stellvertretende Fraktionsvorsitzende Günter Krings und CDU-Urheberrechtsexperte Ansgar Heveling.

Newt Gingrich doesn’t just want to lay waste to his political enemies and a large part of the news media. The former House speaker and presidential hopeful wants to bomb a significant part of the planet, too.
Gingrich is on the record favoring American military intervention from North Korea to Lebanon. He recently threatened cyberwar with China and Russia. And on Monday, he called for an all-out assault to topple the Castro regime in Cuba. With such a wide range of targets, no wonder Gingrich has consistently said that the U.S. is in the middle of “World War III.” His plans for overthrowing the Iranian government? Just the beginning. In fact, if President Gingrich encounters any little green men while building his moon base (!), they had better pray to their astral maker for mercy.

Newt Gingrich insists his fans will not be silenced.
Mr. Gingrich, a former House speaker, on Tuesday morning threatened not participate in any future debates with audiences that have been instructed to be silent. That was the case on Monday, when Brian Williams of NBC News asked the audience of about 500 people who assembled for a debate in Tampa to hold their applause until the commercial breaks.

Sweden, progressive homeland of Ingmar Bergman and government subsidized everything, has arguably the most aggressively anti-trans policies of any developed nation.

60 neue Eurofighter für Griechenland
Den Wunschzettel des griechischen Verteidigungsministeriums hat der Mann im Kopf: bis zu 60 Kampfflugzeuge vom Typ Eurofighter für vielleicht 3,9 Milliarden Euro. Französische Fregatten für über vier Milliarden, Patrouillenboote für 400 Millionen Euro; ebenso viel kostet die nötige Modernisierung der existierenden griechischen Flotte. Dann fehle es noch an Munition für die Leopard-Panzer, außerdem müssten zwei amerikanische Apache-Hubschrauber ersetzt werden. Ach ja, und dann würde man gerne deutsche U-Boote kaufen, Gesamtpreis: zwei Milliarden Euro.

Pakistan official says US military will be allowed to return, but not CIA drones
U.S. military trainers will be invited back into Pakistan "as early as April or May," but the nation has ruled out allowing CIA drones back into the country, Fox News has learned.
Relations between the two nations have been at an all-time low since 24 Pakistani soldiers were killed in an inadvertent aerial attack by NATO in November.

What Is Ron Paul Thinking? Sues To Unmask Anonymous Internet Users

One of the key points behind Ron Paul's success in this Presidential campaign (as well as in 2008) was his reputation for actually "getting the internet" and making good use of it to promote his message and motivate and activate his supporters. But it appears that perhaps he doesn't quite get the internet that well. That's all I can think after reading the details of a dreadfully short-sighted lawsuit that he filed to try to unmask some anonymous internet users. Basically, some random internet users created a pretty dumb, racist and offensive anti-John Huntsman attack video, essentially questioning his "values" because he speaks Chinese.

Iran Agrees to Return the U.S. Stealth Drone in Toy Form
Iranians won't return the advanced RQ-170 Sentinel drone downed in their country late last year but they will give the White House a toy replica.
On Tuesday, Iranian Radio Payam reported that a local company is manufacturing a toy version of the stealth drone one eightieth of its size that will be shipped to the White House. News of the toy brinkmanship was first reported outside Iran by Reuters' Mitrak Amiri, who happened to be reporting on a ban on Barbie dolls by the state's morality police (children's toys are a hot topic in Iran right now).
