Pentagon Pays $100 million for Unused Airline Tickets
he Defense Department spent an estimated $100 million for airline tickets that were not used over a six-year period and failed to seek refunds even though the tickets were reimbursable, congressional investigators say.
The department compounded the problem by reimbursing employee claims for tickets bought by the Pentagon, the investigators said.
To demonstrate how easy it was to have the Pentagon pay for airline travel, the investigators posed as Defense employees, had the department generate a ticket and showed up at the ticket counter to pick up a boarding pass.

Cuban Radio: 'Reagan should never have been born'
Cuba's first reaction to the death of the former president was to attack Reagan's policies by saying "he should never have been born".
Cuba's radio station, Radio Reloj said “as forgetful and irresponsible as he was, he forgot to take his worst works to the grave. It added “He, who never should have been born, has died,”
The statement did not speculate on the relationship of Cuba with the United States, while Reagan was in office, nor did it mention anything about Reagan's decision to invade Grenada because Washington thought it was growing too close to Cuba.
