Bei der Wahl von John Edwards zum Vize bewies John Kerry eine gute Nase. Der Versuch, einen Football zu fangen, erwies sich aber als kapitaler Fehlgriff für den US-Präsidentschaftskandidaten.

The headline reads "KERRY'S CHOICE" with the subtext of "Dem Picks Gephardt as VP candidate."

Im US-Bundesstaat Illinois bricht der republikanische Kandidat für den Senat, Jack Ryan, jetzt seinen Wahlkampf wegen eines Sexskandals ab. Die republikanische Partei hofft trotzdem auf einen Wahlsieg in vier Monaten.

Cheney Tells Senator to F Off
Congressional aides say the witnessed Vice President Dick Cheney tell Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy (D) to "f--- off" or "go f--- yourself" after the two debated issues. Cheney has been angry over Leahy's charges that he used Iraq to help Haliburton.

Gezielte Enttarnung einer CIA-Agentin: George W. Bush wurde verhört
Im Juli 2003 wurde durch eine Indiskretion im Weißen Haus eine CIA-Agentin enttarnt. Dies geschah genau zu dem Zeitpunkt, als ihr Mann, ein ehemaliger US-Botschafter, einen Regierungs-Bericht kritisierte hatte.
Deshalb steht nun der Vorwurf im Raum, die Indeskretion sei Absicht gewesen. Deshalb musste George W. Bush heute vor Beamten des US-Justizministeriums aussagen.

Keeping The Queen Costs Rose In 2003
An annual look at the Queen's Civil List expenditure, which is covered by tax payers money, has shown that legal bills rose by £125,000 in 2003, costing the British taxpayers an extra penny a head.
The extra legal costs came from one-off costs for new staff contracts. Tighter confidentiality agreements were deemed necessary, pushing the costs up.
