It has been removed from maps and airbrushed from aerial photographs. But Facility 1391 certainly exists - you just have to ask the Palestinians and Lebanese who have been imprisoned and tortured there.

Cops refuse to admit mistake, and charge driver who was scratching
Highway police who stopped a driver they believed was using his cell phone erred twice. First, he was just scratching his ear. Second, he was a lawyer.

Die Tarnung war alles andere als perfekt, funktioniert hat sie trotzdem: In Japan hat sich ein Exhibitionist vor einem vermeintlichen Schulmädchen entblößt. Doch in der Schuluniform mit Minirock steckte ein Polizist, der sich nicht einmal die Beine rasiert hatte.

Baby alarm snares bungling burglar
Having unsuccessfully attempted to rob a bar, the 46-year-old burglar decided to share the unhappy news with his mates - via the unlikely medium of CB radio.
Sadly, this radio confession was transmitted to a nearby baby monitor, and the vigilant mother immediately alerted the authorities.

Authorities in the county north of Seattle have begun posting a list of everyone booked into custody over the past 24 hours, along with charges and bail amounts, with updates hourly between 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., jail director Steve Thompson said.

Huge art haul found in Paris van
More than 250 stolen paintings have been recovered from a parked van in Paris, French police have said.
The haul includes one Picasso, two works by French painter Raoul Dufy and one by Dutch artist Kees van Dongen.

Oslo police send 15,000 SMS text messages in bid to reduce violence
The young adults, aged 20 to 35, each received an SMS from police that read: "You who are young and who plan to go out tonight, don't become the victim of a pickpocket or assault. Be careful, mind your wallet, your mobile phone and your friends. Cheers. The Oslo Police."

Man Accused of Stealing 440 Left Shoes
Police arrested a man for stealing shoes at a southern Japanese hospital then found a collection in his home of 440 women's shoes — all for the left foot. The private hospital in Usu city, 500 miles south of Tokyo, began receiving complaints two years ago from patients and employees that shoes removed at the entrance hall were disappearing.

70-year-old charged in bank robbery
Federal authorities formally charged a former Princeton man Thursday with bank robbery, meaning he could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
Roger Langille, 70, appeared in U.S. District Court in Bangor . He is accused of robbing Machias Savings Bank in Calais on Wednesday afternoon and fleeing with $3,500.
