Young lovers can sometimes lose their heads, but a young man in Kansas lost part of his tongue Monday night. Police were called to a loud fight at a home in Wichita.

Booked for driving too slow
A Territory motorist has been booked by police for driving too slowly. Auditor Saud Shehzad said he was doing 62km/h in a 70km/h zone.
``The officer said I was going too slowly,'' he said.
His infringement notice reads: ``Obstruct traffic by travelling unreasonably slowly''.

Warning issued after drunken elk attack
Swedish authorities have issued a warning against intoxicated elks after a woman was attacked by a drunken elk. Swedish authorities are apparently not taking any chances and have issued a warning against berry-intoxicated elks after a woman was attacked in costal town of Karlshamn, Sweden.

Für die Polizisten sollte es eine Übung sein. Jetzt liegen sie im Krankenhaus – und ein zweifacher Familienvater (40) ist tot. Sie dachten offenbar, sie befänden sich auf einer normalen Bundesstraße. Mit quietschenden Reifen wendete erst der eine, dann der zweite, beide rasten mit Vollgas in die Gegenrichtung – als Geisterfahrer...

Zero Patience for Zero Tolerance
News shows recently showed video of 14 police officers charging a crowded high-school corridor with guns drawn in a drug sweep. Students at Stratford Creek High School in Goose Creek, S.C., were forced onto their knees or against walls, while dogs sniffed their backpacks for drugs.
None were found.

Marc Dutroux had romantic correspondence with 15-year-old girl from his prison cell
A fresh scandal over Belgium's handling of the paedophile Marc Dutroux erupted yesterday after it was revealed that he was for two years allowed to correspond romantically with a 15-year-old girl from his prison cell.
Dutroux, who is awaiting trail accused of kidnapping and abusing six girls aged between eight and 19 in the mid 1990s and of murdering four of them, wrote to the girl, Isabelle D in Brussels, between 1996 and 1998, styling himself her mentor and boyfriend.

Party's over after theft of Ronald McDonald
The party's smiling, waving guest of honor had a familiar face, especially to the McDonald's employee in attendance.
Thursday morning, Cape Girardeau police recovered the stolen Ronald McDonald statue in the basement apartment on North Park Street. It was wearing a sock cap. A cigarette had been taped to Ronald McDonald's mouth, and his body was marked up with uncomplimentary graffiti.
