Internet baby sale mother jailed
A woman who tried to sell her unborn baby over the internet to two childless couples has been jailed for two years.
Moira Greenslade, 33, of Keighley, West Yorkshire, made £2,500 after offering to give her child to two couples she contacted through a surrogacy website.

Middle school principal on leave after arrest on pot, alcohol charge
Kathy White, the highly-regarded principal of Eliot Middle School, faces charges of drunken driving and possession of marijuana after a concerned motorist tracked her meandering passage from Interstate 95 through Clinton.
Police said a glass half full of wine was found in the cup holder in her car, and a bag containing marijuana and half-smoked marijuana cigarettes was in plain view on the front seat when she was stopped Sunday night.

Wegen "sexueller Störung" - Polizist wird zum Handtaschenräuber
Ein 49-jähriger Polizist aus Thüringen wurde heute zu 2 1/2 Jahren Haft verurteilt. Ihm wurden 15 Handtaschendiebstähle vorgeworfen.
Er fühle sich wegen einer 'abnormen sexuellen Neigung' zu Handtaschen hingezogen, sagte der inzwischen suspendierte Polizist vor der Verkündung des Urteils. Seine Verantwortlichkeit für 1.000 weitere Handtaschendiebstähle wird noch geprüft.

Man arrested after hotel room is coated in Vaseline
Talk about a slippery suspect. A man is accused of applying Vaseline petroleum jelly to every surface in his room at a Motel Six near Binghamton, New York.
After Roger Chamberlain checked out last week, the cleaning crew discovered mattresses and bedding were slathered with the slippery stuff. Vaseline covered the TV set, furniture, carpeting and towels – and everything else in the room.

Hard-up police in Eastern Germany are dodging taxes by buying their petrol in Poland.
Police spokesman Detlef Lueben said officers in the Oder district of Frankfurt took the step because of rising petrol prices.
