Government Laptop of DEA Informants Missing
An unnamed auditor for the Justice Department's Office of Inspector General who had the task of reviewing payments to DEA informants is the last person know to have had a laptop containing a wealth of confidential information on up to 100 informants.
First the auditor said the laptop was stolen from his truck but when confronted by investigators, changed his story and said he had accidentally damaged then destroyed it and threw it in a dumpster to avoid embarrassment.

Drunken driver crashes car into liquor store
The crash uprooted one of three cement-filled poles outside the store, plowed into a table and several plastic chairs, smashed the store's glass front door and came to rest in a nearby parking lot. Brenda James, 40, was treated at Tulare District Hospital, then arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

NHP's radio system crashes
The Nevada Highway Patrol’s new $10 million radio system crashed for 90 minutes during an evening rush hour this week, forcing northwest Nevada troopers outside Reno to use an older radio system, NHP officials said.

Moonlighting Cops Star in Porn Movie?
Two San Francisco police officers have come under investigation after their departments discovered they had starred in a pornographic movie entitled "Bus Stop Whores" that is circulating on the Internet.
The officers, Kelly Francisco of the San Francisco Sheriff's Department and Darryl Watts of the city's police department, play a prostitute and a john in the film, whose teaser is, "These girls won't ride a bus today!" according to local news reports.

Bomb scare was no game to police
Arrested man says conversation misinterpreted as he played game while on phone to work. Buying162 gallons of gas when truck holds 31 was a tip to cops
A man was sentenced to five months in prison for using 270 counterfeit Postal Service credit cards to buy $230,000 worth of gasoline at 203 different stations.
According to prosecutors, federal agents watched one day as Humberto Ulloa, 27, drove his 1992 Chevy pickup to several Miami area stations and made seven consecutive purchases of gas, totaling more than 162 gallons.

In Düren (Nordrhein-Westfalen) musste ein stark alkoholisierter Rollerfahrer an einer roten Ampel stoppen.
Während der 48 Jahre alte Mann auf 'Grün' wartete, schlief er ein und fiel mitsamt seinem Motorroller um. Trotz des Sturzes schlief der 48-Jährige weiter.

KCBS traffic plane lands in, well, traffic
A KCBS traffic reporter became part of the traffic report this morning when the small plane he was in made an emergency landing on an East Bay freeway -- causing a traffic slowdown.
No one was injured in the incident, which happened about 8:30 a.m. when the Cessna 172 apparently ran out of gas while en route to the Hayward municipal airport and landed on westbound Interstate 580 at Highway 238 in Castro Valley, authorities said.

Circus Performer Dies After 30-Foot Fall
Police are investigating the death of a performer who fell around 30 feet onto a concrete floor during a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus show.
Dessi Espana, 32, was twirling on long chiffon scarves when the silky cloth gave way during Saturday's performance at the Xcel Energy Center, witnesses said. She died later that night.
