Mofa war "heißes Eisen" - 147 km/h
Als "heißes Eisen" erwies sich ein Mofa, mit dem ein 16-jähriger Jugendlicher aus Leoben heute im Zuge einer Schwerpunktkontrolle auf dem Rollenprüfstand der Gendarmerie landete: Statt der erlaubten 45 km/h brachte das Führerschein freie Klein-Motorfahrzeug nicht weniger als 147 km/h auf die Walze, teilte die Exekutive mit.

Police unscramble puzzling 'muti egg mystery'
Grassy Park police have discovered a unique "hit list" - the names of local policemen written on five eggs and wrapped in what appeared to be muti.
Police believe the eggs and muti may well be part of an elaborate witchcraft scheme by criminals who are prepared to try anything to derail anti-crime operations in the area. Police on Friday raided a house in Seventh Avenue, Grassy Park, where they discovered the eggs.

Man arrested after L.A. authorities seize 15 tons of fireworks
A 29-year-old man was arrested in connection with the city's largest seizure of illegal fireworks, about 15 tons, officials said.
Bai Ping Yuan was booked around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of felony charges related to selling and possessing fireworks, officials said Friday. He was released on $20,000 bail.

Yellowknife airport scene of two CF-18 accidents G
The Department of National Defence is investigating an aborted landing by a Canadian Forces C-F 18, the second accident involving a military fighter jet at the Yellowknife airport in the past two days. On Saturday morning one of the jets was landing when it went out of control and skidded off the runway. The pilot ejected safely, landing a short distance from the aircraft.
He is in hospital with minor injuries.

Ein plötzlicher Lustanfall kommt einen Schweizer Pensionär teuer zu stehen: Er ließ sich von einer Prostituierten auf einer Toilette bedienen. Als er für die Bezahlung seine Geldbörse aus der Tasche holte, schlug die junge Frau mit Fäusten auf ihn ein, traktierte ihn mit Tritten und raubte das Portemonnaie.

A Swiss pensioner has lost his false teeth in a fight with a prostitute.
The man, aged 74, had met up with the woman and then gone to a nearby public toilet in Basel with her.

Missile falls off CF-18 onto Yellowknife golf course
Yellowknife's golf course was shut down on Friday after an unarmed missile fell off a Canadian Forces CF-18 jet and landed on the driving range. The jet was landing at a nearby airport when the AIM-7 Sparrow missile dropped off. Police closed an adjacent highway for more than an hour.

Gefängnisinsasse bleibt bei Fluchtversuch im Fenster stecken
In den USA wollte ein Verbrecher aus dem Gefängnis ausbrechen. Er blieb jedoch im Fenster stecken und musste dort vier Stunden verweilen, bis er befreit wurde.

Man electrocuted after car wreck
DRIVER WALKED INTO POWER LINE HE'D HIT
A Russell County man survived a car wreck late Wednesday but was killed as he walked away and touched a 7,200-volt power line he'd knocked down.
An autopsy yesterday showed that Brandon T. Popplewell, 24, was electrocuted, said county Coroner Larry Skaggs.

Lightning Strike Kills Woman Carrying Umbrella
Houston police said Catherine Bombasi, 64, was struck by lightning two doors down from her home in the 10900 block of Wickersham near Walnut Bend around 9:30 a.m.
Bombasi's husband said she was walking to catch a bus, carrying a Mickey Mouse umbrella, when lightning struck her.

Crime show is victim of thieves
Guy Ritchie's TV show Swag, which aims to catch thieves red-handed on hidden cameras, has had thousands of pounds worth of camera equipment stolen.
Burglars took the items from a London edit suite on Wednesday night after producers had been finishing off the second series of the Five show.
