1.3 Megapixel Video Camera Accessory Module for Mobile Phones and PDAs
Atsana Semiconductor Corp., a leader in the development of power-efficient, programmable processors for multimedia devices, today announced the availability of a 1.3 Megapixel Video Camera Accessory Module reference design for mobile phones and PDA manufacturers.
The comprehensive reference design connects to existing mobile handsets to offer MPEG4 and H.263 video along with Megapixel JPEG and audio capabilities. OEMs now have a ready-to-market, production-ready design that provides add-on Megapixel still image and video camera functionality to mobile phone handsets.

Herb
1978 fotografierte der Möbelverkäufer Herb Ritts während einer Reifenpanne seinen Freund, den damals unbekannten Schauspieler Richard Gere. "Ich schickte Gere dann die Negative und vergaß die Sache", erzählt Ritts heute. "Was wusste ich schon? Ich war schließlich kein Fotograf." Richard Gere war von den Fotos so begeistert, dass er sie seinem Agenten gab. Drei Monate später erschienen die Bilder in den damals wichtigsten Magazinen wie "Vogue" und "Esquire". Bald darauf ließ "Mademoiselle" anfragen, ob Ritts nicht Brooke Shields oder Elizabeth Taylor fotografieren wolle. "Ich habe denen nicht gesagt, dass ich kein Fotograf bin."

Photographer Herb Ritts, whose access to celebrities, even at their most fragile moments, gave him an edge in the competitive field, died Thursday of complications of pneumonia, his publicist said. He was 50.

Der amerikanische Mode- und Society-Fotograf Herb Ritts ist im Alter von 50 Jahren an den Folgen einer Lungenentzündunggestorben. Bekannt wurde Ritts vor allem durch seine scharf konturierten Schwarzweißbilder von prominenten Zeitgenossen, die den jeweiligen Zeitgeist perfekt wiederzugeben schienen und mit denen er den kalifornischen Körperkult geradezu zelebrierte.

Gehet hin und lomographiert!
Es begab sich zu Prag im Jahre 1992, da einem jungen Innsbrucker namens Matthias Fiegl eine kleine russische Kompaktkamera in die Hände fiel. Er brachte sein Fundstück mit nachhause, in seine Wiener Wohngemeinschaft, wo alsbald alle begannen, wild mit der Lomo drauflos zu knipsen. Die Ergebnisse der Herumknipserei wurden in der Küche aufgehängt und entfachten ein Lomo-Fieber bei all denjenigen, die die Bilder zu sehen bekamen.

A historical gathering, a spanking summit of the lomographic world in Vienna, the city where everything started - a tribute to Lomography as well as to all the ambassadors and creators who contributed to its evolution. The congress will be featuring an intense lomographic 5 days-programme to explore the city, view striking presentations and take in cultural highlights, gatherings with artists, nifty challenges and, naturally, party hard! One of these days will be dedicated to the eastern roots of Lomography and will be spent in Budapest a city challenge programme and an exhibition-party as well.
