Apple iPhone iDay: It's Here
The iPhone, which combines the functions of an iPod with a smart phone, goes on sale in the U.S. at 6 p.m. and is one of the most anticipated gadgets in recent years. Two models will offered; the 4GB model costs $499, and the 8GB model is priced at $599. Users also have to sign a two-year contract with carrier AT&T Inc. The cost of those plans range from $59.99 per month to $99.99 per month.
Some prospective buyers have been camping outside stores in hopes of being among the first to own one of the new smart phones. A surge in demand for the iPhones could make the devices hard to come by at first, depending on the number that Apple and AT&T have in stock.

On Friday, June 29, not everyone in the continental U.S. will be waiting in line to purchase a $500 iPhone. In fact, hundreds of thousands of digital aficionados around the globe won't be standing in line at all, for June 29 marks the release of version 3 of the GNU General Public License (GPL). Version 2 of the GPL governs the world's largest body of free software—software that is radically reshaping the industry and threatening the proprietary technology model represented by the iPhone.Jesusphone: He is Risen
I'm in a cafe in Los Angeles right now with Sean Bonner, kicking the tires on the iPhone we just brought back from the Apple store at the Grove. It lives up to the hype. Or, in two words: totally sweet.Google Reader iPhone Skin
Google Reader iPhone Skin uses the Greasemonkey concept of modifying the look and feel of a web application through dynamically loaded JavaScript. By deconstructing the DOM and obfuscated .js file, I modified the page elements while preserving Reader's basic functionlity. For the iPhone, I'm hoping that JavaScript bookmarks will work as they do on the desktop browser.Digg API iPhone Interface

TV newsreader sets fire to Paris Hilton
A US television news presenter refused to lead her bulletin with the latest Paris Hilton story, then screwed up, shredded and attempted to set fire to the script on air.
Mika Brzezinski, co-presenter of MSNBC's Morning Joe programme, refused to read out the story of the celebrity socialite's release from jail ahead of items on Iraq and developments at the White House.
A clip showing the presenter's stand has been viewed more than 250,000 times on YouTube.
In a scene reminiscent of Paddy Chayefsky's classic film Network, it shows Ms Brzezinski repeatedly refusing to read the Hilton script and arguing with her co-presenters about its place as the lead item.
She told viewers: 'I hate it and I don't think it should be our lead.'

Man sues after plane hits Lamborghini
An Oregon man has sued over a traffic accident that involved an unlikely pair of vehicles - his Lamborghini and a small plane piloted by FBI agents. The propeller from the Cessna airplane mangled the driver's side of the black Lamborghini that Marlowe Treit had given himself as a 60th birthday present in 1998.
Filed earlier this month, Treit's lawsuit against the U.S. government accuses the pilots of negligence in the May 2006 collision, and seeks $105,500 in damages.

Lessig moves on
" Finally, I am not (as one friend wrote) "leaving the movement." "The movement" has my loyalty as much today as ever. But I have come to believe that until a more fundamental problem is fixed, "the movement" can't succeed either. Compare: Imagine someone devoted to free culture coming to believe that until free software supports free culture, free culture can't succeed. So he devotes himself to building software. I am someone who believes that a free society -- free of the "corruption" that defines our current society -- is necessary for free culture, and much more. For that reason, I turn my energy elsewhere for now. "
