Nuclear Experiment Planned in Nevada
Government scientists plan to conduct an underground nuclear experiment Tuesday at the Nevada Test Site, the National Nuclear Security Administration said. The subcritical experiment, dubbed "Armando," will involve detonating high explosives around plutonium in a steel sphere while X-rays, radar and lasers chart the behavior of the radioactive element in a non-nuclear explosion.

Baby born from 21-year-old sperm
A couple have given birth to a baby boy who was conceived using 21-year-old sperm, it has emerged.
Doctors at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, where the baby was born two years ago, said the age of the sperm may make it a world record.

Coca-Cola announces plans for low-carb cola
Coca-Cola announced plans for a new low-carbohydrate cola dubbed C2, aimed to capitalize on the latest diet craze.
The company said the new drink has half the carbohydrates, calories and sugar of regular cola, and "all the great taste" of Coca-Cola.

Jumbo jet collapses at Heathrow
A 320-ton jumbo jet collapsed at Heathrow on Sunday while engineers were carrying out maintenance work.
No-one was injured when the nose of the Boeing 747 crashed to the ground as landing gear folded.

Swedish moose steals bicycle
A hungry moose already known to raid rosebushes, has stolen a bicycle from a garden in Sweden.
Bjoern and Monica Helamb, of Vuoggatjalme, said the moose had regularly visited their yard to eat their roses over the last decade.

Romanian truck blast kills about 15, injures 12

A new military radio system is jamming remote-control garage doors in communities near this Florida Panhandle base.
During testing last week of the $5.5 million two-way radio system at Eglin, homeowners in Niceville, Valparaiso and the Crestview area reported that their garage door openers failed to work.
