Crepuscular Rays
When darkly clouded regions or permeable obstacles such as tree branches filter the sun’s beam, rays of sunlight appear as straight columns radiating from a single point in the sky. The phenomenon, often used in horror movies, is most commonly seen at dawn or dusk and can even be witnessed under the ocean as the sun shines through sheets of cracked ice. This beautiful scene was captured at the Arches National Park in Utah.

Hell exists, it's full of sulfur and it's located at Indonesia
Placed at the top of the Ijen volcano, in Indonesia, this sulfur mine was opened in 1968. About 200 miners, known as the "sulfur slaves", work here everyday and carry 70 to 90 kg of sulfur in their baskets from the crater floor. The typical daily earnings of these miners are equivalent to approximately $5.00 US. and their life expectancy is only about 30 years.

Revealed: The Antarctic iceberg that looks like a giant humbug
One of them looks like a giant mint humbug, with its clear blue, green and brown stripes.
The other looks as if it has been shot through with a streak of spearmint.
These stunning banded icebergs - formed over hundreds, if not thousands, of years - were pictured floating in the waters of the Antarctic.

Darvaza, the Apocalysis Gas Crater
Located at Turkmenistan desert, Darvaza flaming crater is one of the most apocalyptic landscapes in the world. Its 60 meters in diameter and 20 meters depth have not been caused by volcanic activity or a meteorite impact. This crater was created sometime in the 50's when the Soviets were prospecting for natural gas in this area and it's been burning since then.

Killer dolphins baffle marine experts
Film taken of gangs of dolphins repeatedly ramming baby porpoises, tossing them in the air and pursuing them to the death has solved a long-term mystery of what causes the death of so many of these harmless mammals - but has left animal experts baffled as to the motive.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a flying mobula ray soaring high off the Mexican shore
Lurking off Mexico's eastern shore in the Sea of Cortez, these flap-jack-like creatures burst out of the water with graceful precision.
Soaring as high as two metres above the plankton-rich green water, mobula rays are a sight to behold.
Here in the Sea of Cortez four species of mobulas (tarapacana, thurstoni, munkiana, and japanica) occupy the waters along with the giant manta ray.
