NASA takes steps to end myth of fake moon walk

To all those scoffers who think that "One small step for man" bit was a giant bleep to mankind, the nation's space agency is taking notice.

More than 33 years after NASA says it first landed men on the moon, the agency is spending more than $15,000 in an attempt to rebut conspiracy theorists who say its six Apollo-program moon landings.

Station grows into largest man-made space vehicle

When shuttle Atlantis departed the International Space Station on Wednesday, it left behind the largest man-made vehicle in space. Opinions differ about whether it's aesthetically pleasing. Shot from a distance, the photographs of Alpha look like a string of silvery beer cans stretching 146 feet long -- about the length of two mobile homes sitting end to end. Set against the blackest of backgrounds, the steely look of the modules is complemented by the shimmering gold of solar panels that stretch almost the length of a football field.

Hungry astronauts grow cosmic beans

When visiting the international space station, better one should come bearing gifts, in particular fresh edible treats for station residents weary of bland, processed foods. When the space shuttle Atlantis arrived last week, commander Jeff Ashby did just last, radioing space station resident Peggy Whitson to make sure she knew he was bringing salsa.
