Is Michael Jackson Broke?
Michael Jackson earns an enormous amount of money. His annual income is astonishing: somewhere between $18 million and $20 million. But this titanic sum is dwarfed by the amount he manages to spend every year: well over $30 million, including punishing interest payments to various creditors. Jackson is in debt by as much as a quarter of a billion dollars.

If You Read You’ll Judge
Preview of Kurt Cobain's journals
I like punk rock. I like girls with weird eyes. I like drugs. (But my Body And mind won’t allow me to take them). I like passion. I like playing my cards wrong. I like vinyl. I like to feel guilty for being a white, American male. I love to sleep. I like to taunt small, barking dogs in parked cars. I like to make people feel happy and superior in their reaction towards my appearance. I like to have strong opinions with nothing to back them up with besides my primal sincerity. I like sincerity. I lack sincerity ... I like to complain and do nothing to make things better.

Mit Rilke in die Charts
Lyrik ist out, "Chill out"-Musik ist in.

Is rock & roll nostalgia out of control?
Have you looked at the music chart lately? The two top-selling albums are Elvis Presley's ''30 #1 Hits'' and The Rolling Stones' ''40 Licks.'' The Elvis collection was released to mark the 25th anniversary of his death, while the Stones best-of set celebrates the band's 40 year anniversary -- proving, yet again, the power of nostalgia.

Note to self: when stealing a security camera, make sure there are no security cameras filming you
"I hope it all goes down the crapper. I would never take another deal in the record business, which means I may not record again, or I have to figure out a way to sell over the Net or do something else. But I'll be damned if I'll line their pockets."

The History of Breakdancing
To most American radio listeners, even to casual fans of hip hop, breakdancing was a fad whose moment passed before the end of the '80s, tossed into the decade's time capsule along with acid wash and decent John Hughes movies.

RIAA launches anti-piracy site
It’s illegal and it’s a drag! The unauthorized reproduction and distribution of copyrighted music is JUST AS ILLEGAL AS SHOPLIFTING A CD. Burning CD’s from peer-to-peer networks like KaZaA, Morpheus or Gnutella is against the law. The rules are very simple. Unless you own the copyright, it’s not yours to distribute.

IT may have been smaller than some of the other celebrity undergarments on offer, but Kylie Minogue's bra stole the show when it went for STG2,400 ($A6,880) at a charity auction.
