Beethoven Symphony Manuscript For Sale
Beethoven's final manuscript of the Ninth Symphony, marked with the composer's revisions and insults to the copyist who produced it, could fetch up to $4.6 million at a sale in London next month.
"This is one of the greatest works ever written by man, and it isn't likely there will be another complete Beethoven manuscript up for sale ever again; the rest are lost or in libraries," Stephen Roe, Sotheby's head of manuscripts, said Tuesday.

The Madonna video you can't see on MTV
A bootleg copy of her bomb-throwing "American Life" video proves provocative -- but not nearly as disturbing as her decision to yank it.

Clinton tells Bush to "go get funked."
George Clinton, aka Dr. Funkenstein, has a message for President Bush: Go get funked!
“The world needs more funk because they’ve obviously got too much idle time,” Clinton said by phone during a tour stop in Chicago. “I mean, when they can’t come up with nothing but war, they must really be getting bored.”
“Bored” isn’t a word he would use to describe himself. Spreading funk is what the 62-year-old Patriarch of Funk does best.

The Sound of Things to Come
No one ever notices what's going on at a Radio Shack. Outside a lonely branch of the electronics store, on a government-issue San Diego day in a strip mall where no one is noticing much of anything, a bluff man with thinning, ginger hair and preternaturally white teeth is standing on the pavement, slowly waving a square metal plate toward people strolling in the distance. ''Watch that lady over there,'' he says, unable to conceal his boyish pride for the gadget in his giant hand. ''This is really cool.''

Bush, shame and the Dixie Chicks
So what on earth are they going to do with a willful kid like Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks? Maines, a native of Lubbock, Texas, got herself into trouble last week when she told a London audience, "Just so you know, we're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas." The London papers barely blinked an eye, but the American media caught on fast.
