One love unites fans on Marley's 60th birthday
Under a sea of red, green and gold flags, dreadlocked Rastafarians danced in the main square of the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, yesterday to mark the 60th anniversary of the birth of the reggae star Bob Marley.
As some of Africa and the Caribbean's leading musicians played Marley favourites it was obvious that the singer, who once declared "my music will go on forever", had lost none of his ability to appeal to world audiences.

"Like a Rolling Stone" vor den Rolling Stones
Bob Dylans "Like A Rolling Stone" ist wie guter Wein - er wird mit den Jahren immer besser. Zumindest wenn es nach den Jury-Mitgliedern des US-Musikmagazins "Rolling Stone" geht, die den Song vor "Satisfaction" von den Rolling Stones zum besten Song aller Zeiten wählten. Vor 15 Jahren war die Reihenfolge noch umgekehrt.

Das neue Album 'Encore' von US-Rapper Eminem ist bereits knapp zwei Wochen vor dem eigentlich geplanten Veröffentlichungstermin illegal im Internet erhältlich. Die Website RNS hatte schon vorgestern die neuen Lieder im Angebot.

Ashlee Simpson Blames It On The Band, Walks Off Stage During Live Broadcast
Pop star Ashlee Simpson had something of a mic malfunction during "Saturday Night Live" last night. A tape of her singing accidentally went off, when her mouth was nowhere near the microphone, as she was about to sing to a live national audience.
Simpson sang one song earlier without incident. Then, as the she was about to sing during a second segment, a recording of her singing the first song came on. Simpson stopped, danced a nervous jig, and then walked off, the band still playing.

Eminem Disses Bush on New Song
A song "Mosh," which is part of Eminem's upcoming new album, was leaked on the internet. In the song, Eminem bashes president Bush. Today, 400 hosts were already sharing the track which is spreading throughout P2P networks.
Eminem raps: "Let the President answer on higher anarchy/Strap him with an AK-47, let him go fight his own war/Let him impress daddy that way...No more blood for oil." Eminem told reporters that he registered to vote for the first time.

Elton John Says Madonna Should Be "Shot" For Lip-Synching
During an acceptance speech at the UK's Q Awards, piano man Elton John said Madonna should be "shot" for lip-synching after he heard she was nominated for "Best Live Act."
Elton's tirade went like this: "Anyone who lip-synchs in public on stage when you pay 75 pounds to see them should be shot.. Madonna, best fing live act? F off.. Since when has lip-synching been live?.. That's me off her f***ing Christmas card list but do I give a toss? No."
