‘F’ word haunts music industry
With global music sales down for a seventh straight year, the talk at an annual industry meeting in Cannes, France, has become heated over how to develop digital sales against competition from the dreaded F word - free.
Global sales are expected to be down again for 2006 despite digital sales almost doubling to $US2 billion and the popularity of music being as strong as ever.

Ninja kitten band win Coke battle
An unsigned British band have reached a settlement with Coca-Cola over the soft drink giant's use of their material in a television commercial.
The band, 7 Seconds of Love, argued that Coke used their song Ninja and its distinctive kitten-filled video without permission in a South American advert.
After talks, Coke agreed to an out of court settlement of an undisclosed sum.

James Brown's Body Moved, No Word Where
The Godfather of Soul's body has been moved from a temporary resting place in his home, but his attorney isn't saying where.
James Brown's body was moved Thursday from a guarded, climate-controlled room at his Beech Island, S.C., home where it had been since Dec. 30, said Buddy Dallas, the late entertainer's estate trustee and longtime counsel. Brown died Dec. 25 of heart failure in Atlanta at 73.

DIY DJ MIX ONE: State of Emergency
For a while now, I have had a growing interest in being a DJ at some point in my life. I have this whole week off from school, so I downloaded MixMeister Pro and set to work. What I came up with is about 45 minutes long, and basically it’s a lightly edited bunch of my favorite songs as of late, transitioned into one another. Don’t have very high expectations, I only have had this program for a few hours.

No, Drama and Cannon (pictured left with Killer Mike) didn't get caught riding dirty. Instead, according to local television news, local authorities in Atlanta raided the recording studio & offices of The Aphilliates, confiscating quite literally everything -- including recording equipment, CDs, and even (from the looks of the film in the news report) promotional posters.
