Singer James Brown's body placed in crypt at daughter's home
More than two months after he died, soul singer James Brown's body was placed in a crypt Saturday at the home of one of his daughters, though it likely will not be his final resting place.
Brown's body had been kept in a secret location during disputes over his estate.
He died Dec. 25 at age 73.

Heaven's door closed to Dylan
It was unlikely that the pair would ever be close friends: Pope Benedict XVI, conservative theologian, and Bob Dylan, iconoclastic singer and poet. Yet the pontiff's feelings about the singer run so deep that he once tried to stop him performing at the Vatican.

Sgt. Pepper heads new list of top albums
The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" has topped yet another list of the all-time greatest albums. This one is the Definitive 200, a registry of 200 albums "that should be in every music collection," according to the National Association of Recording Merchandisers.

The Top 10 Corporate Moments In Rock
Nothing says you're a killer rock band then having your music being used to sell credit cards, stocks, or cars. Sadly, even the giants like the Beatles have sold out to commercials. Then, last month, Courtney Love sold the rights of Nirvana to be used in a video game commercial for MLB Baseball, which we are currently banning from our PlayStation's in protest.

Hendrix family sues over vodka marketing
Jimi Hendrix's family filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday over the use of the guitar legend's name to market a brand of vodka.
The family claims in the lawsuit that companies owned by Seattle businessman Craig Dieffenbach used trademarked material to market Hendrix Electric Vodka and other products.

The Music Cocoon has been designed for use with the lovely Apple iPod (hence the fairly obvious dock on the top of the amplifier), any portable audio device (that’s why there is a 3.5mm socket on the back of the amplifier), any device which outputs audio to a 3.5mm jack (e.g. a laptop), or a CD player (that’ll be why there is a pair of RIAA sockets on the back as well).

Rapper/mogul Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter has entered into a deal to sell clothing company Rocawear for $204 million in cash to the Iconix Brand Group, a company that licenses and markets such popular brands as Candies, Joe Boxer, Mudd, London Fog, Ocean Pacific and others.

"Gay" Snickers spot and Prince's phallic guitar top beefs to FCC
This year's Super Bowl telecast generated about 150 complaints to the Federal Communications Commission, with the bulk of the beefs centering on Prince's halftime performance and a Snickers commercial. As seen in the letters on the following pages, many correspondents were upset because they believed that the rock star was manipulating his guitar as if it were a penis.
