Da haben sich zwei gefunden: Die britische Skandalsängerin Amy Winehouse hat jetzt ausgerechnet den ständig mit Drogenproblemen kämpfenden Rockstar Pete Doherty als Seelentröster und Umzugshelfer rekrutiert. Mitten in der Nacht half Doherty der Musikerin dabei, mit Sack und Pack in eine neue Wohnung einzuziehen. Winehouses Familie ist über die Junkie-Freundschaft besorgt: Für sie ist der Babyshambles-Sänger ein "Blutegel, der alles Leben aus Amy saugt".

"Birth of a Building" with the BBC Radiophonic Workshop
In 1960 the BBC Television Centre's construction was documented in a short 15 minute film with a mind blowing soundtrack by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. I'm not sure if this music has been included in any of the reissue cds from the past few years but there are many sublime moments sprinkled throughout this film.

Drugs are making Amy Winehouse's teeth fall out
Troubled singer Amy Winehouse's drug habit is taking such a bad toll on her health that it is causing her teeth to fall out.
She has already lost two teeth and is risking gum disease and other appalling side-effects as a result of her excessive drug use, experts warned last night.
Amy, 24, who cancelled her UK tour last week on medical advice, is seeing a doctor daily because of her poor health.

Amy Winehouse sagt alle Konzerte ab
Amy Winehouse hat wegen Gesundheitsproblemen alle Konzerte bis zum Ende des Jahres abgesagt. Die 24-Jährige dürfe auf Anweisung ihres Arztes keine Live- und Promotionauftritte machen, teilte ihr Musikverlag Island Records am Dienstag mit. Die emotionale Belastung, der Winehouse ausgesetzt sei, fordere „Tribut“. Winehouse möchte in einem Londoner Gefängnis singen, um die Stimmung von ihrem verhafteten Mann Blake Fielder-Civil und von seinen Mithäftlingen aufzubessern. Fielder-Civil sitzt in Untersuchungshaft wegen Behinderung der Justiz und Schlägerei.

Winehouse cancels tour, pining for jailed husband
It has been a busy few weeks for Amy Winehouse. The singer spent a night in the cells in Norway for drug possession, her north London home has been raided by police and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, has been placed on remand in Pentonville prison, culminating in a string of increasingly erratic performances.

Amy Winehouse has sparked concern by appearing to snort a mystery substance during a live stage performance.
The troubled singer, who has previously admitted to a heroin addiction and once collapsed after a drugs overdose, seemed to take a parcel from her bra and put it up towards her nostril.

INXS mark Hutchence anniversary
Australian group INXS has commemorated the 10th anniversary of singer Michael Hutchence's death on its website.
"Michael will always be remembered as a young, vibrant, gifted and passionate person," wrote drummer John Farris.
His brother Andrew, also in the band, said he missed Hutchence's "sense of humour, intelligence and cheeky smile".

Prince and fan sites could unite
Prince is said to be in talks with three unofficial fan websites which could lead to a settlement over an ongoing copyright dispute.
In what has been seen by many as an aggressive campaign to clamp down on the unauthorised use of his image and music all over the pesky interweb, the pint-sized warbling funkster has kept himself very busy cramming up on his intellectual property rights.

Is Gene Simmons Dead?
Just when we were starting to breathe easy now that Travis Barker is alive, the internet is buzzing again, this time with news that Gene Simmons of the rock band KISS has died. And once again the story originated from a MySpace blog, which stated that the rocker had been found dead by his daughter, Sophie.
