American Artifact, a Documentary on the Rise of American Rock Poster Art
Merle Becker interviewed rock poster artists around the country who are part of the rising “rock poster art movement” for his new documentary “American Artifact, The Rise of American Rock Poster Art”. The film features interviews with such renowned artists as Chuck Sperry and Ron Donovan of Firehouse, Stanley Mouse, Victor Moscoso, Frank Kozik, Art Chantry, EMEK, Tara McPherson, Derek Hess, COOP, Jay Ryan, and more, as well as fans, collectors, and musicians.

It focuses on the mid-1980s London soul radio stations which introduced the mastermix genre to the UK. The sounds on this site are predominantly taken from FM pirate broadcasts, recorded to cassette. Often the recordings suffer from interference, drop outs, print-through and occasional 'record button' accidents. But generally they have a warm, authentic quality to them. Browse through the Mixes links on the menu. You can also find station idents, jingles and adverts from back in the day. I'm also building up a collection of pirate stickers, documents, t-shirts and other Memorabilia. For info about the radio stations see the Station Information page. Finally, when I have some time I'll add a Forum so you can add your own memories.

Es gibt mal wieder ein Techno Doku-Video auf YouTube - The History of Electronic Music von 2005 mit Interviews von den alten Hasen wie Sven Väth, Joey Beltram, Talla 2 XLC, Westbam etc, die dann erneut erzählen, wie das damals angefangen hat und Paul van Dyk gibt sogar Einblicke in sein tiefes technisches Verständnis ;)

Vier Tage nachdem Komiker Sacha Baron Cohen bei einer Gala seinen Hintern ins Gesicht von Eminem drückte, hat sich der angeblich Geschädigte zu Wort gemeldet: Der Rapper bekannte, die Einlage sei inszeniert gewesen und er habe sich anschließend "drei Stunden lang schlapp gelacht".

Wegen „Line-up“ und Organisation: schlecht besuchtes „Hip-Hop Connection“-Festival
Normalerweise stürmen hunderte Hip-Hop-Begeisterte das Areal rund um die Wiener Arena um dem „Hip-Hop Connection“-Festival beizuwohnen. Doch heuer interessierten sich nur wenige für das Spektakel, denn das Wetter wollte sich dem Event nicht anpassen. Waren in den vergangenen Jahren noch um die 600 Besucher und mehr, so konnten dieses Jahr im Vorfeld nur 250 Festival-Tickets verkauft werden. Die Abendkasse war an beiden Tagen spärlich besucht – am Nachmittag bewegten sich nicht mehr als vierzig Gäste auf dem Arena-Gelände. Die Hip-Hop-Gemeinschaft in Österreich scheint sich deshalb auf die Hälfte reduziert zu haben; die Festival-Veranstalter fragten sich, was mit der Subkultur bloß geschehen sei.

Eminen got served at the show when Bruno (played by Sasha Cohen) landed his ass at Eminems face.
Dressed as a winged white dove, the British comedian was suspended from the venue’s ceiling during the ceremony, but was ‘accidentally’ lowered down into the crowd after a supposed malfunction with his wire.
Sweeping high above the studio on a harness, Cohen hit an obstacle, spun down toward the audience and landed face down in the lap of Eminem, exposing his naked bottom to the rapper and millions of viewers watching the awards show live on television.
Bruno, the gay Austrian character then shouted :“Aarh! My kugelsack! My kugelsack!” as he slowly dropped headfist towards the rapper. “Help me! Let me down! One of the wires is trapped around my kugelsack!” and added: “Eminem, nice to meet you.”
As Eminem left the venue, Bruno piped up with: “Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?”

Phil Spector gets 19 years to life for murder
US music producer Phil Spector has been jailed for at least 19 years for murdering an actress in 2003.
The producer, 69, famed for his Wall of Sound recording technique, was last month found guilty of shooting Lana Clarkson at his California home.
Spector had pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder during the five-month retrial in Los Angeles. His lawyers said he would appeal.
