Noiseless USB Karaoke Mic
For those of you who enjoy singing Karaoke in the comfort of your own home, it's likely that your neighbors don't share your enthusiasm. You'll be pleased to hear, however, that there is a way that you can continue to sing all night long without bothering the folks next door.

40 Jahre Hippie-Sause

Audio slideshow: Remembering Woodstock
In August 1969, an estimated 400,000 young people converged on a dairy farm in upstate New York for a music festival that would leave a legacy that endures today.
Rainstorms failed to dampen the spirits of the revellers, whose good behaviour over the four days inspired Joni Mitchell to write her classic song Woodstock.
With the help of some of those who were there, take a nostalgic look back at the festival.

The Top Seven Reasons Rock is Dead (and How to Revive It)
There's no denying it -- times are tough for rock 'n' roll. Gone are the days of the huge multi-platinum rock records and the months-long stays atop the Billboard singles chart. While shrieking guitars and pummeling drums were once the de facto battlecry of youth and rebellion, they've now been relegated to a tax write-off for record labels. Just how did rock 'n' roll lose its way -- and more importantly -- how can it regain its former glory?

Happy 40th birthday Woodstock baby, if you exist
Welcome to middle age, Woodstock Baby - if you're really out there. The babies reportedly born at the Woodstock festival 40 years ago remain the most enduring mystery from that chaotic weekend that defined a generation. Depending on the source, there was one birth on that patch of upstate New York farmland between Aug. 15-17, 1969. Or two. Or three. Or none. There is some tantalizing evidence. Singer John Sebastian is captured on film announcing that some cat's old lady just had a baby, a kid destined to b e far out. A couple of surviving eyewitnesses say there were births. The concert's medical director told reporters at the scene there were two births: one at a local hospital after the mother was flown out by helicopter; the other in a car caught in the epic traffic jam outside the site crowded with more than 400,000 people.

Revisiting Abbey Road 40 years on
Forty years ago on Saturday, one of the pop world's most infamous and imitated album covers was shot in a little side street in north London.
The idea for the cover of the Beatles' Abbey Road album was initially to call it Everest, after the favourite brand of cigarettes smoked by their engineer Geoff Emerik.

Techno in Wien 1992

Will the indie chart rise again?
In its 1980s heyday, the indie chart was a beacon of top alternative music. Then the majors took over. Now it may get a new lease of life
It seems like a folk memory already. Could there really once have been a pop chart that was topped, variously, by a portly middle-aged man's cod-opera single, by an anarchist collective from Essex, by Australian soap stars, by black-clad goths from Leeds, by – well, by pretty well anyone you can think of?

U2's latest tour – ludicrous, expensive and a bit hypocritical
Considering their reputation as the most socially aware band on the planet, U2 have been doing their best to inflame at least one section of society with their latest venture. Protesters in Dublin this week picketed the Croke Park stadium where the dismantling of the world's most expensive – and most preposterous – rock show, including a giant electronic "claw", required almost two days of continual activity and the relentless rumble of juggernauts down narrow lanes. All of this presumably left a giant dent where a dainty little carbon footprint should have been.

Kid Koala Takes Psych-Rock 'The Slew' to the Road
Recently Koala & Dylan met the former rhythm section of Grammy Award-winning Australian rock band Wolfmother and began telling them all about the film and its lost music. Chris Ross and Myles Heskett loved the clips and urged that the material had to be heard; subsequently Kid Koala and the guys decided to put a show on the road.
