IRS Hits Wyclef With $2.1 Million In Tax Liens - Presumed Haitian presidential candidate owes for 1040 returns
Wyclef Jean, who appears ready to announce his candidacy for Haiti’s presidency, owes the Internal Revenue Service more than $2.1 million, according to federal tax liens filed against the musician, The Smoking Gun has learned.
In May, the IRS filed a $724,332 tax lien against Jean. Last July, the agency filed a $599,167 lien against the performer. And a $792,269 lien was lodged against Jean in July 2007. The liens cover taxes due on Jean’s individual 1040 returns for 2006, 2007 and 2008. Copies of the liens, which were filed at the Bergen County clerk’s office in New Jersey, can be viewed at left.

1977 galt französische Popmusik als denkbar uncool - doch dann kam "Ça Plane Pour Moi", einer der kommerziell erfolgreichsten Songs der Punk-Ära und der größte Hit des Belgiers Plastic Bertrand. Aber hat er das Lied überhaupt selbst gesungen? Darüber tobt gerade ein heftiger Streit.

Plastic Bertrand did not sing hit record, court hears
Musician and songwriter Plastic Bertrand did not sing on his hit single Ca Plane Pour Moi, an expert linguist has told a court in Belgium.
He spent three months comparing the 1977 punk hit to a 2006 cover version by producer Lou Deprijck - and decided it was the same voice on both.

He further popped: "The internets like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that cant be good for you."
Mercifully, Prince's new-found Luddite tendencies - which have led him to close his official website - don't extend to large mixing desks, electric guitars or CD players, because that would certainly put the kibosh on Saturday's Daily Mirror freebie.

Glastonbury Festival 2010
Last weekend in Glastonbury, England, on a site covering 1,000 acres, the 40th annual Glastonbury Festival was held at Worthy Farm. Started by a dairy farmer, Michael Evis in 1970 it has grown into the largest music festival in Europe. This year's headline acts on the main stage included Muse, Gorillaz and Stevie Wonder. Thousands of attendees were treated to a sunny weekend in the country with plenty to see, hear and experience. Collected here are 40 images from Glastonbury 2010 for its 40th anniversary. Happy 40th Glastonbury
The 2010 Glastonbury Festival begins on the 23rd June at Worthy Farm in the village of Pilton, Somerset.
Michael Eavis held the first festival on his farm in 1970. 1.500 people attended and was headlined by Tyrannosaurus (later T.) Rex who stood in for a cancelled act at the last minute. Held on the last weekend of June virtually every year since then (in all weathers), it has become the defining English music & arts festival and has attracted some (if not most) of the greatest performers of the last 4 decades.

Garry Shider of P-Funk fame dies at 56
Garry Shider, singer, guitarist and musical director of George Clinton's P-Funk All-Stars for much of their history, has passed on at age 56. Shider (the man in the diaper for so many P-Funk performances) was co-author of One Nation Under a Groove and many other masterpieces of the funk. RIP, Garry Shider.

Watch: Massive Attack Interviewed on CBC
There was a slow and steady massive attack on the Sound Academy last night in Toronto. Creeping in across the crowd came that signature smokey lighting and grimy, hypnotic, sexy-soul. One of the godfathers of the 90's genre trip hop, Massive Attack is a collaborative British production duo from Bristol, UK. They have various co-producers and guest vocalists, whom tonight was Ms. Martina Topley Bird, most notably from Tricky. And your boy George was also in the house tonight bopping away to Massive Attack. He will be interviewing the band in the studio on Monday!
