Peachy Printer's sub-$100 3D printer smashes fundraising goal
While the cost of 3D printers are coming down, it's unlikely we'll start to see them invade everyone's homes 'til they become much cheaper. That's the idea, at least, behind the Peachy Printer, a device that's promising to retail for less than $100. Unlike printers made by companies such as Makerbot, Peachy uses a laser to set objects from liquid resin. The laser is guided by a pair of mirrors that take instructions from your PC's audio in / out ports, and the system even allows you to scan objects with your own camera.

$200 MakiBOX 3D Printer
Who would have thought that we would see a $200 printer this early! Looks like the MakiBOX by Jonathan Buford is currently the cheapest 3D printer around (please correct me in the comments if there is something cheaper). Now that Makerbot has gone through some drastic changes and is no longer open source are we going to see lots of low cost entry level machines fill the void? The current MakiBOX uses a 0.4mm nozzle can print 0.1mm layers.

Bicycle-Powered Treehouse Elevator
Ethan Schlussler built this clever bicycle-powered treehouse elevator to make it easier to reach his nearly 30-foot-high treehouse.
“I got tired of climbing a ladder six and a half million times a day, so I made a bicycle powered elevator to solve this problem,” he writes.
“It was originally a 20-something speed bicycle, but first gear wasn’t slow enough, so I cut the large sprocket off the front, and welded it on the rear to get a lower gear. I also had to do away with the de-railers and make a new chain tensioner.”

Portable Raspberry Pi Emulation Machine
Have you ever been in the situation where you wanted to play those nostalgiac Super Nintendo games with your friends while on a 200 mile long trek through the rainforests of Madagascar? Probably not, but if the situation ever arises you could use this sweet emulation machine that you are about to learn to build. The emulation machine runs off of a Raspberry Pi running Retropie, this allows it to support various emulators such as NES, SNES, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Sega Genesis, Neo Geo, MAME, PlayStation One and can even emulate an Apple II.
WARNING: Neither Instructables nor I condone illegal activities. As long as you own a hard copy of the game, you may use a digital backup within your emulation console for personal use.

Kickstarter: eye3, An Affordable Aerial Photography Drone
eye3 is a project to create a professional quality yet affordable flying robotic camera platform, or Drone. Almost anyone attempting to build a platform like the eye3 will be stunned by the complexity involved and the years of hands on experience needed to create a functional, safe device. The incredibly steep learning curve combined with the high cost of failure has kept this powerful tool out of the hands of thousands of creative people. We Can Make Aerial Photography Easy for You
My husband and I have been building, programming and flying these complex machines for many years, giving us the knowledge and experience to produce a high performance flying robot in a low cost kit that practically anyone can assemble. Cinematographers, journalists, scientists, hobbyists: eye3 has the power, stability, automation and precision you need to produce professional results.

Build Your Own Multitouch Surface Computer
First, some acknowledgments are in order. Virtually all the techniques used to create this table were discovered at the Natural User Interface Group website, which serves as a sort of repository for information in the multitouch hobbyist community. If you find the technology shown in this article interesting, you owe it to yourself to check out their forums, where you can participate in the development of multi-touch hardware and software.
