Man Grows 1,245-Pound Pumpkin
An upstate New York man's pumpkin patch only yielded three pumpkins this year. But that was more than enough. One weighed 450 pounds, another about 800 pounds, and the third came in at 1,245 pounds, just 17 pounds shy of the world record. Tim Bailey said he grew the large orange fruits from "Atlantic Giant" seeds, and gave them a lot of water and "organic matter."

Hitler's gift to Nepal king gathers dust
A 1939 Mercedes Benz presented by Adolf Hitler to the then Nepali king is rusting at an engineering college in the capital Kathmandu because of a lack of funds to repair it, a state-run newspaper says.The Rising Nepal newspaper said the car given to the late King Tribhuvan by the German Nazi leader was one of only three of its kind still remaining in the world.

G Merkt euch!!! Die waren schon vorne & werden als ösi meister gehandelt G Daum arbeitete zuletzt mit wenig Erfolg als Trainer bei Besiktas Istanbul. Die so genannte Daum-Affäre mit einer positiven Haarprobe hatte vor zwei Jahren zwischendurch die Karriere des früheren Stuttgarter Meistertrainers und Coachs in Leverkusen, der schon als künftiger DFB-Teamchef vorgesehen war, abrupt beendet. Bayer trennte sich am 21. Oktober 2000 von Daum, auch der DFB löste die Vereinbarung.
