Mammoth skeleton sets auction record
f you were looking for the skeleton of a prehistoric mammoth, Monday was your day to buy. Christie's auction house sold one for $421,200 - a world record.
The unidentified buyer was a European who collects contemporary art and 19th century furniture, Christie's spokeswoman Capucine Milliot said.

Escaped Chimpanzee Raids Fridge, Does A Little Housework
An escaped chimpanzee at the Little Rock Zoo in Arkansas raided a kitchen cupboard and did a little cleaning with a toilet brush before sedatives knocked her out on top of a refrigerator.
The 120-pound primate, Judy, escaped Tuesday into a service area when a zookeeper opened a door to her sleeping quarters, unaware the animal was still inside.

PARENTS have been warned to check their children's Christmas presents after it was revealed hundreds of hardcore pornographic images had been hidden in books, clothes and toys at some of Melbourne's major shopping centres.
Police fear children could open gifts on Christmas morning to find them lined with porn.
