Lego Tower Record Broken
The folks in Vienna just put themselves on the Lego map by building a record breaking Lego tower. At 29.48m the size is nothing to sneeze at, in fact it required a crane for the final construction. It was built by hundreds of children to celebrate the four-day 100 Years of Friends of Children festival and really put the hurt on Legoland Windsor in England - beating them by a whole 18cm.

LEGO Education - Building Asia Brick By Brick
With booming economic growth, the East Asia of today looks radically different from that 20 years ago and will change just as drastically in the next 20. But modernisation often comes at the cost of tradition, and you can see in China that thousands of older, traditional buildings have been razed and replaced. The Building Asia Brick By Brick project wants to raise awareness for traditional architecture in a more playful way: Architects from China, Japan and Thailand amongst others were given kits of white LEGO building blocks and told to have just fun. The results, from Asiatic temples to futuristic towers to sustainable old-and-new city plans are currently touring Asia. PingMag talked to Andrew Maerkle of Art AsiaPacific and Wei Wei Shannon of People’s Architecture about their Brick By Brick collaboration.

Chocolate Lego
It was sometime last year that I first came up with the idea of combining two of my favourite things - choclate and Lego - but didn’t really know where to start. I knew I’d need some kind of mold, but never got around to working out the best way to make one.
And then I discovered Lego Ice Cube Trays and immediately knew they’d be perfect for what I wanted. Unfortunately, the Lego shop doesn’t sell the trays in the UK, but a quick search of eBay and I found one.

Forbidden Lego
Forbidden Lego was written by a pair of Lego master builders, who used to work in designing advanced Lego sets (e.g., Mindstorms). While they obviously got to work on lots of cool things while they were there, there were certain projects that just turned out not to be suitable to be made into kits released by the Lego company. They wrote the book to give some kind of a tantalizing hint at the kinds of things that go on behind the scenes at Lego, and the kinds of neat things that might get released in a world without product liability suits.
