Massenmörder darf im Knast kein Make-up tragen
Im australischen Melbourne hat heute ein Gericht einen Antrag eines verurteilten Massenmörders abgelehnt. Dieser hatte angefragt, ob er während des Absitzens seiner 30-jährigen Haftstrafe, Make-up auflegen darf.

"You Are Nobody!" Considered Slanderous in Italy
Gulio C. told a parking attendant "you are nobody!" after an altercation over a parking space. The Italian court ruled the phrase means precisely "you are a nonentity", and to state a person as such is offensive and damaging to a person's dignity.

McDonald's wird wegen Frittenfett verklagt
McDonald's hatte im Jahre 2002 zugesagt, das in den Restaurants benutzte Frittenfett durch ein fettärmeres, gesünderes Fett zu ersetzen. Dies sollte bis zum Februar 2003 geschehen sein, es geschah jedoch nie.

Barbie's In The Buff: Artist Wins Lawsuit
You could say Utah artist Tom Forsyth has an unusual liking for nude Barbie dolls. He poses them nude in sexually provocative positions.
Barbie's creator Mattel filed a lawsuit against Mr. Forsyth for copyright violations after it was discovered he was posing the dolls in sexually provocative positions "to criticize materialistic and gender-oppressive values" as Mr. Forsyth has said.

In Olpe bei Hamm wird gerade etwas ganz neues ausprobiert. 'E-justice' oder auch elektronische Justiz wird von Anwälten und Richtern getestet. Es ist ein neues Verfahren für die Bearbeitung von rechtlichen Fällen wie z. B. Scheidungen.

Court Says Your ISP Can Read Your E-Mail
The 1st Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the U.S. Wiretap Act, a law designed to prevent unauthorized eavesdropping, doesn't protect e-mail stored on ISP and e-mail provider servers.

Nackt-Jogger zur Zahlung von 600 Euro verurteilt
Das Karlsruher Oberlandesgericht hat einen Nackt-Jogger aus Freiburg zur Zahlung von 600 Euro verurteilt. Zuvor hatte der 55-Jährige gegen ein Urteil des Amtsgerichts Freiburg Einspruch erhoben. Dieser wurde nun zurückgewiesen.

Man files his own death certificate to avoid arrest
A 53 yr old man pleaded guilty to second-degree forgery in an attempt to get out of skipping out on a misdemeanor drunk driving charge from 1997.
The judge was surprised and stated "This is really a unique trick you tried to play. You were just planning to make yourself dead?"

Nevada: Ein Mann, der 14 Jahre unschuldig im Gefängnis saß, hat sich nun außergerichtlich auf einen Schadensersatz von fünf Millionen Dollar geeinigt. Er hatte stets behauptet unschuldig zu sein.

Milosevic fordert Anhörung von knapp 1.400 Zeugen zum Prozessauftakt
Der Angeklagte Milosevic hat eine Liste mit 1.400 Personen erstellt, die vor dem Tribunal aussagen sollen. Seit Februar 2001 läuft bereits die Zeugenvernehmung.
