Beatles film shows its true colours
Help! is restored to its Sixties glory - with a little assistance from a red phone box and £700,000.
The original, vibrant colours of the 1965 Beatles' film Help! are to be brought to the public eye once again tonight when a revitalised version is screened for the first time. The results of 11 months of work may surprise those who think they can remember what the 1960s looked like. At a cost of £700,000, the company the Beatles founded, Apple Corps, has given Help! an almost eerily fresh and contemporary look.

In Hollywood, Dali's films are reappraised
Spanish surrealist Salvador Dali, both the painter and the man, are familiar icons of 20th-century art. The madcap Catalan with the exclamation-mark mustache as well as his images of melting clocks are staples of pop-culture imagery. But his lifelong experimentation with cinema is perhaps less well known. Fittingly, in the shadow of Hollywood, this niche of Dali's studies is the subject of an ambitious new show, "Dali: Painting & Film," here at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Like most early avant-garde pioneers, Dali had "an intense dialogue with film," says LACMA director Michael Govan.

Based upon user voting at the Internet Movie Database (and a touch of my own discretion), this is a list of the top 15 Indie films of all time. I personally vouch that each and every one of these films is outstanding.

Top 10 Food Related Movies
Movies about food are the only thing better than food itself and fortunately there have been quite a number of them produced. I have selected the ten I think are the best of the genre and included a small snippet of each below. Interestingly only 3 of the ten films here are in the English language - I wonder what that says about the UK and USA when it comes to fine cuisine!
