Sie sind die tragischen Gestalten der Archäologie: Spatenforscher, die auf der Suche nach Jesus-Artefakten das Heilige Land durchwühlen. Für eine Sensationsgeschichte in den Medien sind ihre Funde immer gut - doch übrig bleibt am Ende meist nur Staub.

Religionsunterricht ist Betrug
Es wird Zeit, daß wir Atheisten Farbe bekennen…
Durch die grassierende Obamania fast untergegangen ist die Meldung, daß es den religiösen Dunkelmännern und -frauen wahrscheinlich gelungen ist, einen Volksentscheid für Religion als Wahlpflichtfach an Berliner Schulen zu erzwingen. Träger dieser Kampagne ist in der Hauptsache die evangelische Kirche Berlin-Brandenburg, auch wenn sie mehr oder weniger erfolgreich versucht, andere Glaubensgemeinschaften zu vereinnahmen.
Mich ärgert vor allem die (unterschwellige) Argumentation, daß nur auf einer religiösen Grundlage Ethik und moralische Werte vermittelt werden können. Atheisten, als gott- und vaterlandslose Gesellen sind dazu selbstverständlich nicht in der Lage.

Priests jailed for $8.6 million theft
Two Roman Catholic Church priests in the United States, were sentenced to prison for theft. They were convicted of stealing over US$8 million from St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church in Delray Beach, Florida.
Retired Monsignor John A. Skehan and Reverend Francis B. Guinan were accused in 2006 of misappropriation of funds from the church collection plates and church bequests.

UUPS! ET ORBI - PR für Dummies
Ungeschützter Sprachverkehr, noch dazu in der Öffentlichkeit, ist unverantwortlich. Man kennt seine Partner nie gut genug. "Public Relations" ist das Präservativ im Umgang mit Medien - doch der Papst macht's lieber ohne. Keine gute Idee, wenn es um das Thema Aids geht.
Noch bevor Papst Benedikt den Fuß auf afrikanischen Boden gesetzt hat, war seine Pilgerreise schon wieder vorbei. Jedenfalls, was die Wirkung in der Öffentlichkeit angeht.

KONDOM-DEBATTE - Vatikan rechtfertigt Äußerung des Papstes
Der Papst lehnt Präservative als Mittel im Kampf gegen Aids ab: Das machte Benedikt XVI. zu Beginn seiner Afrika-Reise deutlich und stieß weltweit auf Unverständnis. Nun hat sein Sprecher versucht, die Äußerungen zu erklären - und geißelt die "Ideologie des Vertrauens in das Kondom".
"Kondome verschlimmern das Aids-Problem" - die lebensferne Botschaft des Papstes auf seinem Flug nach Afrika sorgt für Verwunderung und Entrüstung. Nun hat sein Sprecher versucht, die Äußerungen zu erklären. Der Papst habe das Augenmerk auf die "Erziehung zur Verantwortung" legen wollen, sagte Vatikan-Sprecher Federico Lombardi am heutigen Mittwoch vor Journalisten in Kameruns Hauptstadt Jaunde.
