Infamous Strip Club Now a Church


What was once a house of sin will soon become a house of worship.

A nondenominational church will lease the Gold Club building and hold its first services there early next year. The infamous Atlanta strip club was shut down by the federal government after a sensational racketeering trial in 2001.

Oops! Vicar gives out porn films


A German vicar inadvertently supplied his parish with dozens of hard core porn films in an unsuccessful bid to teach people about the life of Christ.

Frithjof Schwesig, vicar in the southwestern town of Lampoldshausen, had ordered 300 copies of a video film portraying the life of Christ as told by the gospel according to Luke.

China sends Bible owners to labor camp


Owners of Bibles are the target of a crackdown on "illegal religious organizations" by police in southern China's Guangxi province.

Up to 40 policemen descended on the homes of Christians in villages in Xilin county in the middle of the night, ransacking them in search of Bibles and other religious materials, according to written testimony supplied to Agence France-Presse.
