Could a Google Toilet Be Next?
The recent hire of plumber Ed Kowalsky has the Internet abuzz with rumors that Google (GOOG) may offer a toilet service in the coming months. While Google has not released any official statement, technology insiders believe that the popular search engine may see a huge opportunity for profit in the lucrative home fixtures market, currently dominated by American Standard and Kohler.

Google's secret of success? Dealing with failure
The technical wizardry behind Google's successful search engine may come down to a blindingly obvious insight: PCs crash.
On Wednesday, Urs Hoelzle, a vice president of engineering and of operations at the search giant, shed some light on how Google's data centers operate. Many people consider the company's operations expertise more valuable than the actual search algorithms that launched the enterprise.

Dave Winer’s worst nightmare
In the spirit of the childish foot-stamping that is marking the “debate” around Google’s Autolink toolbar functionality, I now present Dave Winer’s worst nightmare. Drag this bookmarklet onto your toolbar, and hit it every time you read his rantings.

It’s a slippery slope, my friends.

At last, I understand the dangers of Google AutoLink!
Like many others, I had written off Dave Winer's recent obsession with the new Google toolbar. That was until I actually downloaded and installed the thing, and realised - oh my god! There are some really important points he's raised, and everyone needs to hear them right now!

Google Maps
I'm normally a little suspicious and hesitatnt when Google offers yet another service because I've already seen Yahoo! go down that road and spread itself too thin. It always felt like Y! was 50 square miles, but only two inches deep. Well, let's just say that Google did it right when they set out to do maps! Nobody has ever done it right in the history of civilization until now. Google managed to make the interface five times simpler than anyone else, yet still twice as useful.

The terms of the offer are currently being discussed by the board. The developer committee has been informed of some of the details via email. A private IRC meeting with Google is planned for March, 2005.

Google and Mozilla’s Love Child - GOOGZILLA
There was a partnership made this week that is probably scaring the pants off of Bill Gates and the people behind Internet Explorer - Google is shacking up with Mozilla to form Googzilla! Well, not exactly, but close enough. Just as Mozilla makes Internet news of securing almost 6% of the web browser market with FireFox - which has been downloaded an estimated 19 million times, Google starts offering positions, free lunch, and in-house dental benefits to the top Mozilla developers Ben Goodger and Darin Fisher.
