Google and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum today launched the "Crisis in Darfur" Google Earth initiative which offers users a handy guide to the systematic destruction of the Darfur region of Sudan as a result of an ongoing conflict between local rebel groups and pro-government militias.

Will Viacom Kill the Video Star?


The Viacom vs. YouTube throwdown got more interesting this week with the arrival of Mark Cuban at ringside.

"In aggregate, YouTube screwed up and they are in big trouble," he told Wired News Tuesday. "I think there is a very good chance that YouTube gets shut down for a period until they start filtering out copyrighted videos."

Turkish court bans YouTube access


Access to the popular video-sharing website YouTube has been suspended in Turkey following a court order.

The ban was imposed after prosecutors told the court that clips insulting former Turkish leader Mustafa Kemal Ataturk had appeared on the site.
