Six Micronations You Can Join
Admit it – you’ve thought about what life would be like if you ruled your own country. I would make an awesome Queen, just for the record. Diet Coke would flow from kitchen faucets, scientists would put all of the vitamins and minerals you need into low-calorie mint-chocolate chip ice cream and the Killers would sing our national anthem.

Retrofuturistic Nixie Tube clocks by Peter Jensen
The nixie tube is one of the oldest and retro-futuristic of digital display technologies: a glass tube (similar in appearance to a vacuum tube) containing a wire-mesh anode and multiple cathodes that, when powered, become glowing orange numbers. Artist Peter Jensen buys up old, space-race Soviet era Nixie-tubes and turns them into fantastically retro-futuristic digital clocks. A four digit Nixie Tube clock kit will cost you $135, or only $99 if you don't mind tearing apart crazy ol' grampa's non-functioning time machine for the stray parts, but you can go up to a six-digit aluminum model for $495. Gorgeous. These look like they were just removed from the dash panel of Flash Gordon's 1950s-era rocket ship. I want one.

Jimi Hendrix gets shuffled
Now, David Alvarez of Leavenworth, Washington, has unveiled an even bigger, even more original creation. Using more than 8,500 Bicycle playing cards, he recently constructed a portrait of guitarist legend Jimi Hendrix.
While others have used Post-it Notes for mosaics like this, as far as Alvarez can tell from Internet searches, he is the first to experiment with playing cards as the medium for a portrait mosaic.

World's most disgusting ice cream
Well, the Metro.Co.UK , first described the Aunt Bessie's treat as "the world's most disgusting ice cream," and captioned a photo of the Banger and Mash Cone with the word "horrible" repeated seven times. The folks from Aunt Bessie's, apparently distressed by the review, arrived at the Metro writer's desk with a load of bangers and mashed potatoes, hoping to change his opinion. He did, sort of. And he gave Aunt Bessie some suggestions for improvement, such as creating a swirl of gravy throughout the mash, kind of like caramel swirling through vanilla ice cream. The cone unfortunately was not acceptable, as it disintegrated very quickly with the load of Bangers and Mash atop it.

The Stupidest Business Decisions in History
We’ve all made mistakes … but probably not big mistakes like making snot beer, saying no to The Beatles, or turning down the patent for the telephone.

The 50 Greatest Comedy Sketches of All Time - From Monty Python to "More Cowbell," and beyond.
There's no more sure-fire way to kill something's intrinsic comedic value than to try to examine what makes it funny. The minute you start thinking, you stop laughing. So why, then, have Nerve and IFC.com devoted an enormous amount of time, manpower, monetary resources, server space and posh catered lunches to the pursuit of ranking the boob tube's finest sketch comedy offerings?
In part, we're here because magical new technology (coughYouTubecough) allows us to do more than just pontificate for paragraphs on end — now we can pontificate for paragraphs on end and provide audio-visual evidence to back up those pontifications. We provide the context, share our thoughts and feelings and let you commence with the guffawing and, naturally, the disagreeing. After all, the comedy sketch — short, sweet, completely silly or shot through with social commentary — worms its way into the public mind like nothing else, and has easily made the leap to the web when other forms have faltered.
