This is a list of entheogens - which, according to Wikipedia are: in the strictest sense, psychoactive substances used in a religious or shamanic context. Plants and herbs have been used for many centuries in religious contexts due to their mind altering nature. In recent times many have been taken up by the “casual drug user” as a cheap alternative to chemical based drugs.

How I got my hands on some marijuana -- the legal (and easy) way.
Sometimes I can't believe how Californian California is. Women walk around half-naked, waiters call patrons "dude," and medical marijuana is legal. But I wondered just how legal. Could anyone buy it? Even me, who doesn't have cancer, AIDS, arthritis, glaucoma or even any previous pot-smoking experience?
Medical marijuana isn't really legal -- in 2005, the Supreme Court said federal anti-drug laws trump state laws -- but California and 11 other hippie states have been flipping off Washington for years.

Grenzpolizist klaut 10 Kilo Marihuana vor Kamera bei Kontrolle
Ja, richtig gelesen! Kann es noch nicht ganz glauben aber es ist wahr. Grenzpolizist Michael Carlos Gonzalez wird von der eigenen Polizeifahrzeug-Kamera gefilmt, wie er ein (20 pound)~ 10 Kilo Paket mit Marihuana, bei einer Grenzkontrolle vom Pickup eines gestoppten Verkehrsteilnehmer klaut. Seelenruhig packt er dann die 2 Kisten auf die Rücksitzbank seines Polizeifahrzeug. Laut Polizeisprecher ist der Herr nicht mehr im Dienst.

Trip Down Memory Lane
You'd have to be of a certain age to make sense of some of the stuff being written about Albert Hoffman after his passing last week. LSD, which he invented - or accidentally stumbled upon, better said - was a big part of youth culture in the 1960s and early 70s. It has hardly been available for the past thirty years, so I suspect most people wonder what all the fuss was about. But those of us who experimented with it are taking the opportunity to dust down some of our wilder memories.

75 students arrested in San Diego State University drug bust
Dozens of San Diego State University students were arrested after a sweeping drug investigation found that some fraternity members openly dealt drugs and one even sent a mass text message advertising cocaine, authorities said Tuesday.
Two kilograms of cocaine were seized, along with 350 Ecstasy pills, marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, hash oil, methamphetamine, illicit prescription drugs, several guns and at least $60,000 in cash, authorities said.
Of the 96 people arrested, 75 were students. Eighteen of the students were arrested Tuesday when nine search warrants were executed at various locations including fraternities, said Jesse Rodriguez, San Diego County assistant district attorney.

Dutzende Studenten bei Drogenrazzia festgenommen
Kokain, Ecstasy, Waffen: Bei einer Razzia an der Universität von San Diego in Kalifornien fanden Fahnder kiloweise verbotene Substanzen. Angehörige einer Studentenverbindung hatten zuvor Drogen an verdeckte Ermittler verkauft. Insgesamt wurden 96 Personen verhaftet.
Das nennt man eine satte Ausbeute: Insgesamt zwei Kilogramm Kokain beschlagnahmten die kalifornischen Ermittler - außerdem Marihuana, psychedelische Pilze, Haschöl, Methamphetamin und mindestens 60.000 Dollar in bar (38.640 Euro), wie die Behörden mitteilten.

Brazil tourists 'meet drug dealers'
Police in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro are to investigate claims that tourists visiting some of the city's shanty towns are being offered a chance to meet armed drug dealers.
The police say they want to establish if the lives of tourists are being put at risk, but the company involved has defended its policy.
For many years guided tours of favelas or shanty towns have been an option for people visiting Rio de Janeiro.

Die Transvestiten, die sich Andreia Albertine und Carla nennen, waren drei Stunden lang auf einer Wache im Osten von Rio de Janeiro befragt worden.

Sixty-three years ago the first acid trip was taken by an unwitting research chemist, Albert Hofmann, who has died at the age of 102. To its detractors LSD is perhaps the most dangerous drug in the world, but did its advent really change society in Britain and even the way we eat?

Cannabis freigeben? Kundgebung in Wien
Am Samstagnachmittag fand in den Bezirken Mariahilf, Neubau, Innere Stadt und Landstrasse eine Kundgebung zum Thema „Gleichstellung von Cannabis mit den legalen Drogen Alkohol und Nikotin“ statt. Knapp über 230 Personen nahmen an der Demonstration, die geordnet und friedlich verlief, teil.
