Amy Winehouse & Friends Enjoy Cotton “Cocaine” Candy WTF?
Amy Winehouse and her druggie friends have found a new use for her cotton candy machine… to make cotton “cocaine” candy. You can get your sugar high and your coke high at the same time. Supposedly this concoction was the clever idea of Babyshambles guitarist, Mik Whitnall. Just what Amy Winehouse needs huh?

Britain is protecting the biggest heroin crop of all time
This week the 64th British soldier to die in Afghanistan, Corporal Mike Gilyeat, was buried. All the right things were said about this brave soldier, just as, on current trends, they will be said about one or more of his colleagues who follow him next week.
The alarming escalation of the casualty rate among British soldiers in Afghanistan ? up to ten per cent ? led to discussion this week on whether it could be fairly compared to casualty rates in the Second World War.

Nato to attack Afghan opium labs
Nato has agreed its troops will be allowed to attack opium factories for the first time in Afghanistan.
Alliance spokesman James Appathurai said troops will act with Afghan forces "against facilities and facilitators" using drugs to finance the Taleban.
Afghan forces have taken the lead in the fight against the drugs industry until now. The US wants more aggressive tactics against the opium trade.

This came out of a discussion on the nature (failure) of expertise, certainly inspired by the continued downward spiral in which our economy finds itself. Apparently, the $700 billion bailout did not work and the Dow Jones Industrial Average slips further daily.

The most famous weed-smoking rap group of all time, Cypress Hill, was celebrated at VH1's Hip Hop Honors - along with De la Soul, Naughty by Nature, Slick Rick and Too Short.
B-Real In his acceptance speech, Cypress' B-Real acknowledged, "People know we get baked. They figure that's a part of it. And I think it plays a part, I'm not gonna lie. But we always tried to let people know just through the music that we were more than that. We were talking about other things that were far more serious. It's an important issue to us, it's something we believe in, but it wasn't all we were about."

Most plants contain some level of toxins (like alkaloids) for defense. After all, they’re plants. They can’t go anywhere. Through millennia of trial and error, both animals and human beings have figured out which plants are safe, which are lethal, and which are somewhere in between. For example, did you know that many grain-bearing plants contain a toxin known as lectins? And that the African staple, cassava, must be thoroughly boiled and soaked to separate it from its poisonous compound, cyanide?

Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol
The Beckley Foundation's Global Cannabis Commission document said the cannabis ban had backfired and called for a "serious rethink" of drugs policy.
The ban has had little or no impact on supply and has turned users into criminals, it said.
"Although cannabis can have a negative impact on health, including mental health, in terms of relative harms, it is considerably less harmful than alcohol or tobacco," the report claimed.
