Cannabis grower trapped by YouTube
A cannabis grower let police in on his secret hobby after posting home videos of the crop on YouTube.
The 25-year-old was arrested after officers saw footage on the website documenting the stages of growth at his home in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Wie der Deutschen Hanf Verband berichtet, kam es zu weiteren Bleivergiftungen durch verseuchtes Marihuana. Gemeldet wurde aus München, jedoch dürfte die Verteilung weitaus breiter sein. München: Blei im GrasIm Blut betroffener Cannabiskonsumenten, die unter Vergiftungserscheinungen leiden, wurden hohe Bleiwerte gemessen. Das von ihnen konsumierte Marihuana wies eindeutige Spuren von Blei auf.

Milliardenbetrüger Stanford von FBI aufgespürt
Der seit Tagen untergetauchte mutmaßliche Milliardenbetrüger Allen Stanford ist von der US-Bundespolizei FBI in Virginia aufgespürt worden. Die US-Börsenaufsicht SEC wirft dem Investor vor, weltweit Anleger um bis zu acht Milliarden Dollar betrogen zu haben. Laut einem TV-Bericht dürfte sich aber auch das FBI selbst für Stanford interessieren, da dieser Verbindungen zu mexikanischen Drogenkartellen unterhalten haben soll.

Stanford suspected in drug laundering scheme - video
ABC’s Brian Ross reported that Robert Allen Stanford has not been seen since his financial group was charged with fraud by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Authorities say that Stanford had been suspected in a drug laundering scheme before being charged with fraud.

National Federation of Atheists launched
A national student body of atheists and secularists has been formed to represent the interests of non-believers across the country.
The organisation - the National Federation of Atheist, Humanist and Secular Student Societies (AHS) – was established to counter the "prejudice and discrimination" atheists groups claim to have experienced across the country when establishing atheist groups.

Dope-smuggler's "job-wanted" ad
This classified ad from a former marijuana smuggler looking for work was apparently placed in a Toronto paper (the Toronto Star? The Globe and Mail? The National Post?) around 2006 or 2007. It's got a lot of moxie -- certainly being a successful dope runner requires a fair bit of self-starting get-up-and-go and precision organizing. Still, I'm not convinced it's real -- anyone know more about it?

Februar erhielen sie und sechs weitere Patienten, die an chronischen Schmerzen, multipler Sklerose, Tourette-Syndrom und anderen schweren Erkrankungen leiden, vom Bundesinstitut für Arzneimittel und Medizinprodukte (BfArM) in Bonn eine entsprechende Ausnahmegenehmigung.

Raids seize £50m of Afghan heroin
Hundreds of British and Afghan troops have seized heroin and drug-making chemicals in Afghanistan with a street value of more than £50m ($71m).
Defence Secretary John Hutton praised the troops' bravery and said the seizures in Helmand province would starve the Taleban of funding.
The raids on four drug factories, involving 700 troops, would also stop the drugs reaching UK streets, he said.
