More smoke toad venom to get high
"Toad smoking," which is a substitute for "toad licking," is done by extracting venom from the Sonoran Desert toad of the Colorado River. The toad's venom — which is secreted when the toad gets angry or scared — contains a hallucinogen called bufotenine that can be dried and smoked to produce a buzz.

Hoodwinking a bunch of nuns and growing cannabis in their garden without their knowledge is bound to be one of them.

Größter Schweizer Kokainfund in Zürich sichergestellt
Den größten Kokainfund aller Zeiten in der Schweiz haben Beamte der Kantonspolizei Zürich bei Ermittlungen gemacht, die seit Anfang 2006 liefen: 311 Konservendosen mit 124 Kilogramm Kokain entdeckten die Polizisten in einer Wohnung mit Garage, teilten Kantonspolizei und die Staatsanwaltschaft II des Kantons Zürich am Mittwoch mit. Außerdem wurden weitere 20 Kilogramm Kokain und 200.000 Franken (121.359 Euro) sichergestellt. Die Polizei verhaftete eine zehnköpfige Drogenhändlerbande.

A New York counterterrorism detective who was fired after he said he failed a drug test because his wife spiked his meatballs with marijuana has filed a lawsuit to recover his job.

Colorado couple threatens to sue cops for letting marijuana plants go to pot
The narcotics charges against the Masters were dropped in June and the plants were returned to them Monday but dead.
The couple's lawyers say the plants might be worth more than 100 thousand dollars.

Drug smugglers caught in Estepona and Algeciras
The Civil Guard have reported a drugs haul of 840 kilos of cannabis resin in Estepona this weekend, after a suspicious boat was spotted 10 miles off shore on Saturday, and came to shore on the Playa Arroyo Vaquero. The drugs had already been loaded into a waiting vehicle when officers arrived on the beach and arrested a 28 year old man named by his initials, I.C.M. The Civil Guard said he is Spanish.

Gestern machte die Strassenwache in Florida einen unglaublichen Fund: Am Strassenrand lagen 2 Müllsäcke- voll gestopft mit frisch geerntetem Marihuana. Für die Fahndung hat sie eine originelle Idee.

74-Jähriger bunkerte kiloweise Kokain
In Tiefgaragen, hinter Postkästen - ein 74-jähriger Mann hat viel Fantasie bei den Verstecken seiner Drogenvorräte bewiesen. Die Handschellen klickten, als ihn die Polizei mit einem halben Kilo Kokain erwischte.

In July of 1999, Gov. George W. Bush of Texas traveled to Cincinnati to visit Hope Temple, a former crack house that had been turned into a church. It was an almost unbearably hot day. Bush was on a tour through the Midwest during which he was testing out his philosophy of compassionate conservatism, trying to see if its rhetoric and principles could sustain a winning presidential run. "The American dream is vivid," Bush told audiences, "but too many feel, 'This dream is not meant for me.' " John Bridgeland, the congressional aide who had helped steer federal funding to Hope Temple, says Bush was "overwhelmed" by his visit to the church that day, and stayed the whole afternoon. That evening, Bush spoke about the fervent religiosity of the place and the rough joys of the addict's redemptions. "These," he said, "are the armies of compassion."
