Marijuana Wafts Into Grim Israel Election Campaign

Fraught with angst over the conflict with Palestinians and fed up with politicians who offer no clear way out, Israelis appear set to vote into parliament a party that would let them get legally high on marijuana.

Green Leaf, which not only wants to legalese cannabis but also plant it in toxic waste dumps to soak up heavy metals, is one of 29 parties vying for seats in the 120-member parliament in the January 28 general election.

Your Government Is Lying To You (Again) About Marijuana

A Refutation of the Drug Czar's "Open Letter to America's Prosecutors" ALLEGATION #1 "There is a serious drug problem in this country."

TRUTH America does have a serious drug problem, and our public policy needs to better address this issue with health and science-based educational programs, and by providing more accessible treatment to those who are drug-dependent. Unfortunately, the bulk of our nation’s current anti-drug efforts and priorities remain fixated on arresting and jailing drug consumers – particularly recreational marijuana smokers.

4 tunnels found under Mexico-Ariz. border

Mexican agents found four tunnels under the Mexico-Arizona border that were presumably used to transport drugs or migrants into the United States, officials said Monday.

The tunnels were found Saturday by Mexican agents patrolling near the border city of Nogales, federal investigators said. The agents entered a drainage canal as part of their patrol and found a door at the border that led to four separate tunnels, each about 1 yard in diameter.

Tijuana: Magnet on Mexico's Northern Border

In both good and bad ways, Tijuana profits from its unique position on the frontier between Mexico and the USA. People smugglers and drug dealers bring money into the city, gang crime and the drug trade flourish. The tightening of border controls since September 11, 2001, has turned border traffic into a test of perseverance.

Psychedelic sketches

This is a small selection of my psychedelic sketches and diary pages from the early seventies, done under the influence of lsd-25. They don't have any artistic value. But at that time of my spiritual development they had a very special meaning for me in clearing and freeing my mind, fighting through my various inner masks and barriers, and opening doors towards magical tantric dimensions of the higher self as best described in Tibetan Buddhism. In 1976 I slowly finished my empirical psychedelic research which started in 1963, and switched over to Tibetan meditation techniques.

Opium production in Afghanistan has risen twentyfold over the past two years to levels similar to peak production under the terrorist-tied Taliban regime, the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration said yesterday. DEA Administrator Asa Hutchinson said independent drug traffickers had re-established traditional trade routes in the war-torn country and there had been a significant increase in the number of acres planted with opium poppies, which are processed into heroin.

Saskatoon Canada ??? Dutch-style marijuana cafe

Saskatoon man asks permission to set up Dutch-style marijuana cafe. Uncertainty over Canada's marijuana laws likely sparked a proposal to set up in Saskatoon a Dutch-style cafe where small amounts of marijuana can be consumed, says the city's mayor.

Jim Maddin says the city's planning and zoning department has received a letter from a person interested in the idea if Canada's marijuana laws change. "I think what has prompted this is the recent discussion at the federal level with respect to cannabis possession and that sort of thing," Maddin said Wednesday.

Teen's acquittal throws pot laws into doubt

Judge accepts defence argument that Ottawa has failed to address gap in law An Ontario Court judge has thrown out a marijuana charge against a 16-year-old boy in a ruling lawyers heralded today as another sign that Canada's pot laws are relaxing.

Justice Douglas Phillips dropped the charge after lawyer Brian McAllister argued in court that there is effectively NO law prohibiting the possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana.
