New Cheech & Chong Movie in the Works
Tommy Chong tells CelebStoner that he and his comedy partner Cheech Marin are currently working with Super Troopers director Jay Chandrasekhar on the next Cheech & Chong movie.
"He's working a script right now for us," Chong explains. "We've had some preliminary meetings. It looks really good. It looks really funny. It's about us going to a festival called the Burning Joint. All sorts of shenanigans happen. It's going to be a lot of fun."

A designer drug tied to deaths of thousands partially initiated in the labs of one of the world’s biggest pharmaceutical companies.
In 1979, three researchers at Pfizer, the pharmaceutical giant, came up with a synthetic cannabinoid—a drug that, in some ways, acts similarily to the active ingredient in marijuana. What the company did with this research, it won’t say. But decades later, a designer drug marketed as “fake pot” began to emerge—first in Europe, later in America—that went on to be blamed for contributing to tens of thousands of trips to the emergency room. One of the five active substances in that “fake pot”—also known as “Spice” or “K2”—was the synthetic cannabinoid first discovered at Pfizer.

Etwa eine Million Österreicherinnen und Österreicher haben schon irgendwann in ihrem Leben Erfahrung mit Cannabis gemacht. Etwa die Hälfte davon, also eine halbe Million Menschen, konsumiert regelmäßig Cannabis-Produkte. Tendenz: leicht steigend.

Colorado high: Cannabis-Freigabe und die Folgen - Journal-Panorama
Seit Jahresbeginn ist im US-Bundesstaat Colorado Marihuana freigegeben. Wer über 21 Jahre alt ist, darf die Softdroge legal kaufen und konsumieren. Allerdings darf das Cannabis-Produkt weder in der Öffentlichkeit konsumiert noch aus dem Bundesstaat ausgeführt werden.
Die Freigabe ist ein soziales Experiment mit offenem Ausgang. Wird der Marihuana-Konsum in Colorado ansteigen? Können sich Jugendliche jetzt den Stoff viel einfacher besorgen und gefährden sich damit selbst? Wer profitiert von der Freigabe auf lange Frist? Und wie verhält sich die Regierung in Washington?

Wirtschaftsnobelpreisträger kritisieren internationale Strategie gegen Drogen
Wien/London - Der "Krieg gegen Drogen" ist gescheitert. Zu diesem Schluss kommen Experten der London School of Economics. In dieser Woche präsentierten sie ihren Bericht, der unter anderem von fünf Wirtschaftsnobelpreisträgern unterschrieben wurde.
Die Kriminalisierung von Konsumenten und restriktive Verbote hätten problematische Auswirkungen: So würde der Preis von Drogen am Schwarzmarkt durch Verbote zwar steigen - allerdings nicht so hoch, dass er Süchtige abschrecken würde.

Die Marihuana-Revolution hat begonnen. Immer mehr Länder und Staaten legalisieren die Droge vollständig oder in Teilen, allen voran die USA.
Im US-Bundesstaat Washington ist Cannabis bereits legal, in Colorado ebenfalls. Über ein Dutzend weitere Staaten debattieren darüber, die Droge zu legalisieren. In 20 amerikanischen Bundestaaten ist es zudem bereits erlaubt, Marihuana für medizinische Zwecke zu nutzen.

Obama asking for 1,430 pounds of cannabis in 2014
President Barack Obama would arrest you for trying to purchase three-quarters of a ton of marijuana, but when his administration does exactly that it's business as usual.
According to a Drug Enforcement Administration, the amount of marijuana being grown by the federal government at the University of Mississippi will increase this year to 1,430 pounds of pot.

Colorado is the ground zero of ganja. The politics, the culture, the media, the medicinal, the recreational, the educational, the economical -- all facets of our community are seeing the effects -- both positive and negative -- following legalization on January 1st, 2014. So, we're shooting a feature length documentary film about the normalization of the marijuana industry in our home state.

Uruguay to limit licensed marijuana users to 10g a week
Uruguay is to limit marijuana sales to 10 grams a week for each licensed user when it publishes the rules for its legal market.
The full set of rules are already two weeks overdue.

28.227 Anzeigen nach den Straftatbeständen des Suchtmittelgesetzes sind in Österreich im vergangenen Jahr erstattet worden. Das entspricht einem Anstieg von 18,6 Prozent gegenüber 2012. Das geht aus einer Antwort des Innenministeriums auf eine parlamentarische Anfrage der FPÖ hervor.
