Drogenrazzia bei "Superstar"-Vanessa
Ex-Superstar-Kandidatin Vanessa (18) hatte in einem Interview zugegeben, gekifft zu haben.
Nun führte die Polizei eine Drogenrazzia im Elternhaus der Sängerin durch.
Ob sie fündig wurde, ist nicht bekannt.

Ottawa stays pot charges in 4,000 cases
Ottawa is making it a green Christmas for 4,000 people -- it plans to stay thousands of charges of pot possession as a result of legal battles over medicinal marijuana.
The decision will apply to every person in Canada charged with possession of marijuana between July 31, 2001, and Oct. 7, 2003, Justice Department spokeswoman Pascale Boulay said yesterday.

Afghanistan's own opium wars
The spurt in violence in Afghanistan in recent months has generally been attributed to the resurgence of the Taliban and al-Qaeda. However, aid workers in Afghanistan are saying that it is warlords with connections to the production and trade of narcotics who are behind many of the attacks.

Web gambling pioneer sets sights on Internet pot
Warren Eugene, a pioneer of Internet gambling, sees a lucrative new on-line frontier in a Canadian law that allows people with certain illnesses to grow and smoke their own marijuana.
Eugene, 43, says his firm, Amigula/Medical Cannabis Inc., plans to grow and sell the drug to people authorized to use it for medical purposes, and perhaps to some people not medically authorized. He wants Amigula/Medical to become an international, publicly listed concern.

The little dot, looking much like a few grains of cocaine, was visible when he emerged from the screening well before the end, with an earlier bad mood curiously lightened.

Fewer Swiss soldiers caught smoking dope in 2003
Swiss soldiers smoked less cannabis and hashish in 2003, judging by the falling number of disciplinary sanctions for drugs offences announced by military authorities in Switzerland. Heinz Aschmann, of the Swiss army's chief of staff, said 472 soldiers were sanctioned for drugs offences during 2003, against about 600 to 700 in previous years.

Allies at odds over how to fight Afghan drugs boom
Britain and the United States are at odds over how to deal with the massive growth in the cultivation of opium poppies in Afghanistan.
Poppy growing areas in the country doubled between 2002 and 2003 to a level 36 times higher than under Taliban rule, according to figures released by the US last week.

Texaner erstickt an Marihuana-Beutel
Fort Worth (rpo). Aus Angst, mit Drogen von der Polizei erwischt zu werden, hat ein Texaner einen Beutel mit Marihuana verschluckt. Er erstickte.
