Schwerkranke dürfen Cannabis zur Selbsttherapie anbauen
Nach einem Urteil des OLG Karlsruhe ist es Schwerkranken unter Auflagen erlaubt Cannabis anzubauen. Der Besitz von Drogen ist normalerweise in Deutschland strafbar.

Two charged with stealing marijuana
Two men face felony charges after stealing their friend's marijuana. According to the criminal complaint, the two were visiting the home of a 26-year-old Waupun man between April 1 and April 20, 2003. Vorlob and Rentsch are accused of taking eight to 10 pounds of marijuana from the unidentified man's home. Vorlob told police he sold some of the marijuana and kept some for himself before returning the remainder to Rentsch to return to the man.

$3M in drug evidence missing
Nearly $3 million in drugs, $147,000 in cash and dozens of guns went missing from the evidence room at the Memphis police department, according to audit findings released Tuesday.
The state audit was prepared to help federal authorities in a case that has already led to charges against 16 people, including two civilian employees of the department. No police officers have been charged.

Drug Tax Stamp
The fact that dealing marijuana and controlled substances is illegal does not exempt it from taxation. Therefore drug dealers are required by law to purchase drug tax stamps.
The drug tax is due as soon as the dealer takes possession of the marijuana or controlled substance. Payment of the drug tax will purchase the drug tax stamps.

Utah High Court OKs Non-Indian Peyote Us
The Utah Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that non-American Indian members of the Native American Church can use peyote in religious ceremonies.
In a unanimous decision, the court found in favor of a couple charged in 2000 with drug distribution for providing peyote to members and visitors at their church in Benjamin, about 50 miles southwest of Salt Lake City.

'Dumb and dumber' in court for drug flyer
Two drug dealers, dubbed "the world's dumbest drug dealers" by police and media after handing out leaflets advertising their illegal trade, are to appear in the Hillbrow magistrate's court on Monday on charges of drug possession and drug dealing.
The flyers read: "For any stuff of drug please call this number below. ...Ask for Mike."

Cannabis factory for 'own use'
POLICE officers who raided a Prestatyn bungalow found a sophisticated cannabis factory, a court heard yesterday .
Despite the scale of the operation there was no evidence that Richard Hinchcliffe, who lived at the bungalow in Harlech Crescent, was dealing in the drug, accord-ing to David Mainstone, prosecuting.

Berliner Cannabis-Bauer zu drei Jahren Haft verurteilt
Das Berliner Landgericht hat einen 45-jährigen Ingenieur wegen Anbaus und Handelns mit Cannabis zu einer dreijährigen Haftstrafe verurteilt.
In Wohnungen in den Stadtteilen Kreuzberg und Treptow sowie in einem Neuköllner Fabrikgebäude wurden rund 1.300 Pflanzen angebaut.
Zwei weitere Angeklagte erhielten für Hilfsarbeiten wie das Gießen der Pflanzen bis zu zweijährige Bewährungsstrafen.

215 Chinese restaurants shut down for adding opium to food
The soup wasn't just good. It was downright addictive.
Narcotics police in southwestern China shuttered 215 restaurants found to be mixing opium poppy into their soups and hot pot stews, Xinhua News Agency reported Friday.
Dishes at the restaurants in Guizhou province contained varying degrees of the opium derivative morphine, the report said.
