Gangs and ghosts push UK's homegrown cannabis harvest to a record high
Cannabis cultivation in Britain, whether in inner city lofts or on patches of remote farmland, is booming, according to new research published today.
Plants are being grown and harvested at record levels for the UK cannabis market, and more than 60% of hash sold on the streets is believed to be home grown.

Psychedelic Hendrix drawings go on display
Psychedelic drawings by rock legend Jimi Hendrix which have been unseen for 30 years are going on show at a music shop.
The two drawings of swirling, colourful shapes were created while the guitar hero was on tour, and could fetch £10,000 each.

Police arrest a network of Chinese drug traffickers
Police in Málaga have broken up a Chinese network of drug traffickers which used a nightclub in Torremolinos to sell the psychotropic drug, ice. It is said to be more addictive than heroin, and is much stronger than other hallucinogenic drugs.

Cannabis grandmother spared jail
A 68-year-old grandmother convicted of growing cannabis at her Northumberland home has been given a 250 hour community service order.
Patricia Tabram, from Humshaugh, had denied charges of possessing and cultivating the drug when she appeared at Carlisle Crown Court.
"I'm still going to medicate with cannabis", she said outside the court after sentencing. "This court is not fit for purpose."

Drug laws 'need major overhaul'
Drug laws in Britain are expected to be criticised as being "not fit for purpose", according to a major report.
The Royal Society of Arts (RSA) says illicit substances can be "harmless", while drinking and smoking can cause as many problems.
