John J. Stempka, 24, and Jennifer L. Gilligan, 20, were in the Erie County Prison early Saturday on charges they pilfered power from neighbor Michsella Babcock to run all their appliances, including heat lamps for their pot plants. Babcock alerted Penelec, her power company, when she got a $518 bill, and then discovered a wire running from her circuit breaker box to the apartment of Stempka and Gilligan, police said.

the girl, the commercial, the website
what was mentioned to me as a joke has now become a reality. how could someone with 15 minutes of fame generate such a fan following. maybe it was the rumor that she was under the influence during the shooting of the commercial, or maybe pc users really are switching over to macs. i don't believe the first reason and seriously doubt the second, either way we're all fans.

"I just called animal control because I was worried the pigs were going to get hit by a car and that was it. And that started all this," resident Norma Sustaire said.
The animal control officer who rounded up the pigs noticed what looked and smelled like marijuana and called the sheriff's department.
"We probably have somewhere close to 1,000 plants, give or take," San Joaquin County sheriff's Sgt. Steve Fontes said.
