Police hunt for hallucinating toad-licking thief
Dutch police are investigating whether drug addicts raided a pet shop and stole three exotic toads whose warty skin can induce hallucinations when licked. The animals were snatched from a pet shop near a drug addicts' centre in the city of Leeuwarden in the northeast of the Netherlands on Wednesday.

Urban legend about '9111' leads to pot house
Police say a bizarre urban legend led them to a house filled with marijuana plants. A woman accidentally called police early Tuesday morning because her son told her dialing an extra one after 911 would connect her with a taped message explaining whether police officers were tapping her phones.

'Doped up' Russian soldier runs amok
A Russian soldier serving in the Caucasus has killed at least five of his fellow border guards in a shooting spree - reportedly after eating hallucinogenic mushrooms. At least three others were injured in the incident on Russia's southern border with Georgia.

Man killed in catapult stunt
A student died after being flung 100 feet into the air by a huge catapult. The 19-year-old was taking part in the stunt at the Middlemoor Water Park in Woolavington near Bridgwater, Somerset, on Sunday.

Man finds nine pounds of cocaine in new car
A man who was trying to fix a car he bought at a police auction discovered more than he paid for -- bundles of cocaine. The man notified the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force on Nov. 12 that he found packages of drugs under the vehicle's console when he started to repair the emergency brake.

Study: Pot Smokers Getting Older
Canadian Study Finds Nearly Half Of Users Over 30 Pot heads are graying -- at least in Canada. A long-term drug use study found that marijuana smokers are getting older.
According to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the average age for pot smokers has risen from about 25 to 31 years old. Nearly half the marijuana users were 30 or over.
